Who was a more questionable hire Mike Archer, Curley Hallman, Gerry DiNardo or Ed Orgeron?

Coach Zero and it isn't even close.

There was good reason to hire all the others. None for Zero. (other than he talks like us)

Going on a message board to bitch about an overused topic will not change anything.

Ever.

Seriously. Im not a fan of O. But lurking the board before I made an account was like slogging through a swamp.

Orgeron had one of the worst HC records in SEC history when he was offered what was at the time widely considered a top ten job

Mike Archer was worse because of who they turned down- Steve Spurrier and Mike Shanahan for starters.

DiNardo shouldn’t be in that group son.

Ed Orgeron, at least people wanted the others. Orgeron tried to get an interview at Syracuse and they turned him down. The fact we hired that clown blows my mind. He was 11-25 overall and 3-21 in the SEC in his only other coaching gig. There’s a reason he couldn’t get hired for 10 years before our dumbasses hired him.

Well on paper O is the least qualified. That doesn’t mean he turns out to be the worst. Archer took over a good program and ran it in the ground.

Always wondered what Shanahan & Spurrier would've done in Purple & Gold.

Archer was a whiz kid as a DC and proven himself in that capacity. He was young which was the risk.

Hallman had proven himself successful at Southern Miss even if it was mostly due to Favre.

DiNardo proved himself as a coordinator and then while his record at Vandy wasn’t great, it was a legit success in terms of where they were before he got there.

O is the only one that was a proven massive failure as a head coach and never been in charge of either side of the ball.

Easily he is the worst hire.

He struggled at Vanderbilt & was only offered the job after The Pat Sullivan fiasco.

If Herman turns out to be the next Spurrier, that will change.

O is the worst decision of the three. Archer was a promotion from within. There are other highly successful coaches (like Osborne) who were promoted from within. Hallman was a young up and comer. Just like Urban Meyer. A lot if schools would have taken him.

O was a catastrophic failure at his previous gig. Only one coach (Stallings) won a title after being fired from an earlier gig, and at least he had a conference title under his belt.

O is one of the most questionable hires of all time in college football, so O by a significant margin.

When LSU hired Archer that had more wins in the previous 4 seasons than at any time in LSU history (1984-1987) and they had Steve Spurrier begging for the gig. If people can’t see how that is worse than bumbling the transition from Les to Orgeron I can’t help them .

1. Orgeron
2. Archer
3. DiNardo
4. Hallman

Based upon their accomplishments at the time of the hire.
