It will be even cooler when it lands on Mars. This is the coolest/dumbest thing mankind has done since the Apollo Astronauts played golf on the moon.

I don't get the Musk hate and I bet most who hate on him don't either, it's just a bandwagon thing.

He is a real dreamer with enough money to achieve most any dream! Kudos to the coolness of the successful launch!

Does anybody remember the 1981 animation/movie "Heavy Metal" where a astronaut was going to re-enter in a 57 Corvette, don't remember the context, but when I saw the Tesla in space that's what I thought of?

When the batteries explode, it could take out the milky way.

NASA would never have done something like that, of course.

Would have been cooler if it was a original idea.

Is there any word if the car has burst into flames yet like the Teslas on Earth do?

I've got some wild ideas you'd love and could see IRL if the government gave me $2 billion tax free dollars too.
