The cult of personality you cats have created around this guy is scary - replacing the one around Clinton, who himself replaced the JFK one.

Obama was publicly against Gay marriage in 2008. His crass shrewdness should give everyone pause - for you supporters, what else was he lying about?

For his opponents, it only fuels the fire that - particularly Democrat (but many Republicans, to be fair) - take public positions to get elected, then actively pursue the opposite. Not only is this superficially dishonest, it is also wholly anti-democratic.

FTR, I am happy for these families. I never held any sort of personal grudge against gays or lesbians. I was for the homosexual exclusion policy. I remain convinced that open homosexuality is incompatible with military service. I was also FOR traditional marriage, at the same time I was an active proponent of civil unions - because grown folks should be allowed to arrange their affairs the way they see fit.

Why did I defend traditional marriage? It's the foundation of Western civilization and it deserved to be defended. My side lost that argument. It will do me no good to be bitter about it. Reasonable, civil folks ought to be free to disagree.

But, Obama was only the last in a long chain of folks who achieved this for your community, Toddy. And it is unseemly to elevate any human being to such a position of worship.

Hell, I love Ronald Reagan (:nohomo: NTTAWWT), but I will be quick to point out many, many flaws and problems. The left worships every major leader that has any success, FDR, JFK, (Bill) Clinton (however briefly) and now Obama. Y'all practically worshipped Hillary until she lost.

I never listened to Rove and I don't develop my worldview based on politicians.

I think homosexuality is a perversion of God's created order. What others on the internet think is irrelevant to me. I don't base my understanding of truth on public opinion.

Toddy - If you are a homosexual, I urge you to confess your sin to God and ask for His forgiveness through Jesus Christ. This isn't just about some sort of preference or choice but eternity.
