The irony of your point is that you are suggesting that if left to the right these gentlemen wouldn’t be able to marry and maybe you are correct but what you fail to grasp is that if it were up to the left they would never have meet because there would be no military.
Sebastian Junger has a great book called Tribe and while he is a liberal he is quick to concede that our society really benefits most when both sides are heard and have reasonable influence. Very eye opening and enlightening book which I recommend to anyone who fancies themselves as being enlightened or introspective.

This is what I don’t understand. One of my co-worker’s mother-in-law ran the Republican Party in Texas under Bush. When her son came out as gay, the entire family became Democrats. So the entire family changed parties because of a single issue.

I don’t know why people get so butt hurt over things like this. Marriage is a legal and gay marriage is legal in many states. Any other subscription to marriage is based on religion where people believe in some unknown entity living high in the sky.
