20 years ago maybe, certainly not today.

They've won either 0 or 1 game in football the last 2 seasons

As a DeLaSalle grad, I am thrilled to have people speculating on how the Cavs got so good.

What is the deal with this split in the LA hs football playoffs? I see that y'all have classifications (A, AA, etc.) and then divisions.

Public schools and private schools have separate tourneys and separate state champions. Public schools are 5A-1A champions and private schools are division champions. Texas also splits their public and private schools up too.

I love how the private school jackoffs come on here every so often and act like LA public school principals have ruined sports when the majority of states have either outright splits or enrollment modifiers for privates. So essentially the whole country recognizes there is a problem that requires rules to level the playing field.

Keep saying there is no real problem and blaming others, it's entertaining.

The demographics at DLS aren't exactly what they were about a decade ago.

In most states, the privates voluntarily split off because they could not compete. They weren't kicked out

He did and I really don't. Just that they had a really rapid rise in the two big boys sports. They had been strong in basketball for a long time, but were never a football power. Then they got horrible with all sports. Last two years they have been really good in both.

Judging from how much private religious schools emphasize football, the Lord must have some powerful words in the Bible about it.

“Timmy, you drank too much, cursed your teachers, cheated on a test, and screwed your teenage girlfriend, but I’m gonna let you into heaven because you had three sacks in the Dome to win the state championship.”

Badass in wrestling now, too. Brusly had ran away with the state title for about 10 years in a row and then lost to them recently. When I was in high school a couple years ago they weren't good. Maybe 2 decent wrestlers, now they're winning state titles. Idk.

The drop from 5A to 3A really had an amazing impact on athletics over there. They were finally able to actually compete. Sports were crap because they couldn’t couldn’t compete with 5A enrollment. The academics and general atmosphere of the school have improved over the past 6-7 years.
