I'm sure yall will down vote me to all hell, but I'm no huge fan of Donte Jackson. Elite speed, I know, but I feel like he never turns around to see the ball and is the only guy on the team that doesn't wrap up at all! He's too busy trying to be "the next Honey Badger" to make a tackle. His WR ends up going another 5-10 post catch until a safety catches up to him.
I know Greedy backs up Tolliver on the right side of the field, but any chance we'll see him get reps on the left side over Jackson?

All I know is Greedy looked damned good Saturday.

Could use Donte as a nickel/dime DB and then use him as a jet sweep guy on offense.

Spoiled... you guys are blinded because you're spoiled. The dude is really, really good at CB. Maybe he's not a first rounder but damn.... maybe I'm missing it! I'm not sure how he graded out last year or in the first game this year, please tell me. I can only assume y'all know.

I hope someone beats donte out because donte simply put is just average. Whoever said he's a top 3 rounder...sheesh.

He never turns around for the ball, but the rant loves Toliver who led the team in PI. Here's the news, all of our dbs can ball out.

I never got that impression but I agree he seems to have average at best coverage skills. Mostly just out athletes guys.

No doubt that Greedy can take that spot and don't sleep on Kary Vincent either!

I think he could but that's for the coaches to decide. Jackson could then be put on dime, STs, and possibly offense as well. But again these coaches see them all everyday so, I trust Aranda and Raymond. GT

If they play the same position, then I don't see how it is physically possible for them NOT to compete for the same spot.

In the scope of playing against bigger/modern receivers then Greedy is the right choice. I was really impressed on how he played the ball (he looked back prior to the ball being thrown) as opposed to trying to be disruptive by just waving his hands in the receiver's face. I know he's a freshman but the way he played the ball looked like he was a DB in the NFL. I liked it.

Greedy can definitely play for Jackson's spot if Jackson continues on his trajectory and Greedy remains consistently elite. Bottom line, Jackson is a great athlete but sometimes gets beat and misses tackles seemingly from poor fundamentals. Having said that, I'm not willing to say Greedy will supplant Jackson as a starter after one game. Jackson is what he is but the guy has come up big for us in the past and I wouldnt want to see him off the field.

I will say I definitely don't Jackson returning punts. But, hey, I'm just an a-hole voicing his opinion like most on this site.

If Tolliver doesn't straighten his butt out it may not matter, he is on ice, not thin but getting there.

Donte is scared of contact and honestly doesn't have the feel to play defensive back. He would have best utilized as a gadget offensive player. His athleticism makes him serviceable

I've felt the same way for a while, I'm not really thrilled about Donte at CB. I feel like sometimes he doesn't put forth a lot of effort.

The hate on Donte is amazing. Always have to hate on someone even though our team did fantastic. He gave up a slant in zone coverage (not his assignment), then gave up a catch on a curl for a 10 yard gain. Ever thought maybe the QB didn't throw much that way because he couldn't? Greedy makes 1 play and he's a savior. I guess months and months and multiple years of competition, Donte just happened to get the nod.
Get over it

If Donte could just figure out how to tackle and stop trying to fly into people at a poor angle he would be elite.
