re: Interim coaches

There’s just no way objectively that Frank thinks he could be head coach here.
To be fair, you didn’t qualify your first post. You certainly did though in your second post.
Either way, I’m glad you’re a fan and glad you have a source! I simply saw that you advertise that your favorite team was Texas and reacted to your info with thought top of mind.
This would only make sense if Lane wanted to outright release Frank or if franks ego somehow got in the way with his current situation.
There is nowhere better in reality for Frank to be than LSU and it doesn’t matter the position he’s in.
It would be a career mistake for Frank to get in his head and screw that up imo.
lol…. The Texas fan is starting a rumor, based on if another rumor is true.
So good… I guess that’s what makes this place what it is
No inside info but I would think both will remain here. There is obviously a chance that both could follow the D coordinator if he chooses to work in NO.
I think we go hard to keep Raymond and I would expect Frank to be an associate head coach or something or possibly the WR coach if the RB coach from lil sis is coming with Lane.
I think some of the players just want to know.
Lane needs to start looking at a coach from NO that has some clout and that’s in his early to late 30’s. This way he’s not always relying on Frank, go find the new Frank… he’s out there.

I would expect that BD would be told to seek new employment quickly rather that just cutting him loose immediately.
If he can’t find employment, he’ll be replaced, it will not take long.

Well, someone else should absolutely teach the team 12 new plays and call them at the appropriate times.

So typical of big government (NCAA) to cause a problem, potentially an unintended consequence. But rather than fix the problem they created, many people cry and yell for more rules! Truly unbelievable.
And we have a shot at developing offensive guys

Frank did a good job holding the guys together, that’s why he was chosen. He wasn’t chosen because he’s potential head coach material.
Hopefully he’ll be retained, recruit and possibly coach a position. That’s his strength.
What just happen was awful, but not unexpected.

Fire him. You are spending time worrying about something that will not happen.
If you are concerned, have a useful witness and have someone else near to call the police if necessary.
Whatever you do, for the sake of your team and business, fire him.
It’s every aspect of the game on offense. It’s all bad. There are plenty of people that have said the whole offensive stuff needs replacing, and that covers the WR.
But you are correct, they have certainly underperformed, but it’s not because of what they do on Saturdays!

Mmm, that’s hard to see
If Schmidt can lock in and start getting ahead of batters we will be built for tournaments, this year. He’s close.

re: CJJ strategy on Saturday

Seems to me he just got greedy this weekend. He won Friday, then it looked like he was going to win again Saturday. AE was pitching well enough and the offense gave LSU a little cushion. I think Jay decided to try and win saturday, thinking they should be able to score more and get through 4 innings without Evans pitching. (I think he started coaching looking ahead to Sunday too soon-started trying to steal a sweep and it backfired) IMO he rolled the dice and it simply didn’t work.
If Evans had come in Saturday as the second or third pitcher LSU likely wins the series. I suspect Jay learned a lesson from this. Jmo.

Is she the Ace or is she the next up?

Somebody from Mizzou would call in a bomb threat if we took another coach from them.

This is going to happen. Mizzou was on the rise, defense was getting after it, Baker has relationships with those guys.

Seems like his fastball is staying around 91-92 so his velo is about the same. I would expect him to run it up a tic every now and then but not consistently.
He has developed more pitches though. In the fall he was commanding a changeup, curve and of course his slider. (I haven’t seen him pitch but 1 inning this spring)
His pitches are all at different speeds so if he can mix it up well and keep it over the edges he should eat up more innings this year.
His stuff has improved, he’s just not over powering, obviously.
