They do need to find one and it needs to be just as big of a hit as Bo Davis was. Really irritates me when LSU finally brings in a guy like Bo Davis and he leaves a year later. Seems to happen to LSU quite frequently. Need to go find a proven coach but then also go find an up and comer to come as an assistant to see what he can do on the sidelines so when this happens we have a guy who can both coach and recruit his butt off. They are out there, we just need to go find them.

I kinda like the idea of bringing in the instate guy at Nicholls State who had his guys dominating our OL last year as the assistant behind a big named proven guy who might eventually leave. I believe it was Nicholls. Bring him in with the hopes of taking over if it works out. If not then he can always move on to another smaller school or even get hired by a bigger school from LSU. I’m sure we can find the money to match what he’s getting now. It’s making a jump to a bigger school even if it’s in an assisted role to someone with a proven record at this level.

Go after all the big names and just see what happens. Whether they are with teams or not. It is worth paying for and having the best DL coach in the country you can possibly get your hands on. After a few seasons of stocking up the talent, then think about bringing someone younger in who might be cheaper. But for now we need to prove ourselves on the field and with recruiting. Last year was a decent year and we definitely saw improvements. I love the DE coach but having a great interior coach is huge. I like the new hire for the interior OL so let’s go get the same for the DL. Deion Barnes, Nick Eason, Terrance Knighton, Rodney Gardener, Jess Simpson, Corey Brown, or Eric McDaniel would also be a good one. Have to get one of the top 10 guys.
LSU need to be ready and willing to spend for these top QBs, DL, OL, and LBs. RBs, WRs DBs can be found but need to be willing to match for all of our top guys.
I don’t see why not, now that the NIL game has changed completely, he’d be a perfect fit here and he already knows LSU and how to recruit here.

If Arkansas can hire Petrino back as a coach then what Will Wade did here is nothing in comparison. LSU just needs to admit it may have jumped the gun here and just ask him to come back. It was a great fit and the man can both recruit and coach. Even if he isn’t the best on the floor coach, he can easily get an assistant to help him with that role. At the same time, I’m certain he’s aware of what he did and has learned from it. I’m also certain that us fans are not given the full story. There’s probably much more to it than what has been given to the public. We don’t know if the statements are even true, to what degree if they are true or the context within the story given.

I say go for it and I think it’s the other way around, he might not want to come back to a place that did that to him. I completely understand that what he did wasn’t right and also not very wise but he was still young and at a huge institution like LSU, trying to compete with the best in the country. All he was trying to do was put LSU on top, by any means necessary. At the very least, you have to respect that fact.

I’m anxious to see what the new and young DTs like McKinley are going to do in this bowl game because the last few starts he’s had, he’s looked unmovable. Looks a lot like Brockers in 2011, just unmovable and athletic. I’m also curious how they will use the new big guy up front. I’d imagine that he will be used for certain packages like the 3 man fronts and short yardage/goalline situations. I’m hoping that safety sticks and doesn’t decide to enter the draft. If we keep all these transfers, we should be a top 25 defense next year. I also think that center we just picked up will make a huge impact on this OL. It allows us to play everyone at their natural positions. The WRs look good as well. I’d probably pick up another DT, OL and DB.
Yes, give Olds and Heldt whatever the frick they want. Then add the best two safeties, OL and at least one DT. Then we’ll have a decent roster to add to these sophomore/freshman classes we just picked up. If we want to be a serious contender next season, we need these positions filled with quality players. Spend the darn money, get back into the championship conversation or win one then you’ll pick up guys just from that exposure and may not have to spend as much the next time. These kids want to win and develop as much as they want money, we just need to prove to them that LSU is that place to do that for them.
Then why don’t we use them both as big physical WRs who may not have tons of speed but can block as a WR and be physical on long yardage or red zone opportunities. Why don’t we just use some of these players in a specialty role? Not all of our players need to be all around players at their positions. They can come in for certain moments in games. Just like Perkins. He shouldn’t be on the darn field on every down. He should be coming in when we want pressure or a huge play, either in the backfield or roll him into a passing lane with pressure coming from the other direction. Let him play zone at a particular time and place in a game. You do the exact same thing with those types of players with those body types. Really athletic but maybe don’t have the exact size/speed for the overall position. You put them in there to take advantage of situations. I don’t understand why LSU never does this. It’s like they either have to know everything about the position or they can’t play. These other teams don’t have that same expectation, especially if those guys have elite athletic ability. Watch what he (Pimpton) does at OleMiss. Same with Daniels. We should have allowed those guys many more opportunities with drag routes and quick slants. You can’t tell me Daniels couldn’t have gotten into the end zone with the right route trees called.

This is getting out of control. What type of kid are you to come into a school and keep trading schools like this. It’s madness and it is completely changing the game I used to love. I really don’t like this. You are a starter at one of the premier schools in the country that just produced two Heisman Trophy winners and a national title. It’s not like you starting for Kentucky or A&M here. What school is better in the SEC? These kids are absolutely insane for doing this instead of just waiting, training, growing and becoming a team. Hopefully the NFL steps in and says these guys aren’t getting the training they need to become an NFL player because they don’t know what team sports is about anymore. The adults need to step in and shut this down or just not play football anymore. Take it completely away from them. It’s insane!
Which tells you all you need to know about rankings because anyone who actually believes either of these two teams would beat LSU is delusional or doesn’t know much about college football. Put LSU on the west coast or in the big 12 and we would be undefeated or have 1 loss at most. The playoffs will have to adjust their ranking system if we dominate our bowl opponents. There are several teams in the playoffs that if they were in the SEC would not have the same records and that needs to be addressed.

NIL, free lance transferring and these rankings all need to be addressed quickly or we will have the same darn teams winning this thing every year and it will likely be from the SEC. Put a team in that can actually beat one of the SEC schools and you might get a decent playoff. I’m not saying LSU deserves it this year but a 3 loss SEC team should be able to make it over a 1 loss big 12 team or ACC team. Watch how far South Carolina makes it if they get in. We beat them. Bama is another team that matches up well in the playoffs. Football if about matchups and that’s why I can’t stand these rankings.

Plus with all this turnover it makes it even harder to field a consistent team. LSU has to figure this out or we will be seeing this team starting over every year. We will have to start competing for our best recruits and players. Letting Womack go and losing these highly ranked HS DL and DBs isn’t how we keep building to a championship caliber team. Stop losing them and replacing them. Keep them and add more. We have plenty of room now.

I’m pretty sure it’s much harder to build in football than it is to build in ladies basketball or baseball. Especially with the portal. In the next 3 years I believe BK will have LSU in the playoffs and either win a title or play for one. It’s tough to build this from scratch which is basically what he had to do.

Then let’s start offering absurd amounts of money to these guys just so they have to counter with an even crazier offer knowing we will lose them. Start making them pay bigger money for these guys. Play to their arrogance.
The last thing this dude is worried about is jail lol. A billionaire in jail lol. You actually believe the worst thing this guy has ever done is offer a kid 12 million dollars and have his lawyers find loop holes to write it off? That’s hilarious. Imagine having all these billions of dollars and now imagine how many people offer deals for you under the table and on the table. This guy had already bought his entire regions politicians, judges and lawyers. He will never do any time ever. Unless he runs against the democrats. No one is above the law at that point. Our entire system is a joke and it’s been exposed for all to see. It’s been out there, some just choose to live in a fantasy world.
Omg you people are really really ignorant when it comes to football.
Exactly and that’s who you want on your team anyway. Kids who believe in themselves and already believe in LSU. Bryce Underwood is a real winner and a real dude. I don’t believe for one second that he doesn’t believe he can come in here and do exactly what JD just did. Seasons are different and you learn things from one to the next. We have been very bad in 2009 to undefeated and unbelievably good 2 years later people.

We have a defensive structure we can build on now. We are just getting it together this season. With that LSU will be extremely tough to beat no matter what type of offense we have and I truly believe Brian Kelly knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s not perfect but he sees what we do and I believe he will do whatever he needs to do to change it and he will put it altogether in the next 2-3 years and possibly have something consistent to field for 2-3 years in a row.
Now that is a joke. These recruits don’t go to schools because of their current win loss record. They go to schools with history, great fans, great coaches and to prepare the next level or learn how to become successful without football. LSU has all of it and more.

But this crap about running QBs is suck BS. Plus Nuss has plenty of athletic ability to take off and bust 25 yards on occasions. They simply need to tell him that we need this from you and make him do it. Call his arse out. That’s when he throws interceptions because he rather try to throw to ball into a 2” window. We’d very likely be undeafeated today if he would take off and run when things open up and keep the damn ball on occasion when running the RPO. That’s how much it can change this offense. Not only that but we need to be much more creative on offense, especially in the RZ. I don’t see us use the middle of the field much, we don’t use easy slants, we don’t use the QB sneak while spread out, we don’t use screens, we don’t use the draw play much and these are all things that can slow a defense down and also give your guys tons of confidence. We need better play calling and we also need to use every damn weapon we have. Put our two long athletic TEs on the same field with two quick WRs and a good all around back and run 10 different plays with different looks and we would score much much more in the RZ. Run a post with one TE, run a fade with another, send your fastest WR crossing the field and have your running back sneaking out the backfield. Run that shite over and over and over in practice until your unstoppable and confident. Fixed!!

Not only is the offense lining up for him to have tremendous success at LSU but all three phases are getting exponentially better. Bo Davis and People's are just simply making things work for now, wait until they actually have the dogs they recruited here at LSU to line up.

Things are about to get real ugly for the rest of the country. LSU defense back to its former self with this potent offensive attack is dangerous. Just wait until we put Green on that field. I’ve been waiting for that the entire season and I think it was a mistake not using both him and Pimpton all year long.

We could have had a real physical offense with those dudes out wide catching balls over the middle and on go routes. Especially inside of the RZ and on 3rd downs. RB room is going to be deep with Frank back at it as well. We have a beastly staff who can both recruit and develop. WR room is going no where and Louisiana simply produces the best athletes around.

Bo Davis and company has turned this DL into some real dudes and now they bringing in some real dudes to become realer dudes lol. I like it!

Love this defensive staff! They’re going to bring back that old LSU defense. Scary defense that no one really wants to play against. Looks like they’re doing it much faster than I originally expected as well. Add these fast hard hitting LBs and secondary to that mix and you have a championship team in the making. Won’t be long now.
That’s not the point. If you have 10 RBs, you will end up with the best 5 or you should end up with 5 really good backs. Not only that but once the stats get out there about how many transfers don’t make it after transferring compared to staying at their original school then the transfer issue will subside a little.

Especially for the schools who routinely produce NFL players. All LSU has to do is show these kids and parents the numbers on when players leave LSU vs when players stay at LSU or transfer into LSU.
It is every year. Crazy how some have such short memories. This kinda stuff and recruiting period. I’m no longer concerned with recruiting the defense and since he’s been here BK has done a great job on offense. Plus with this scholarship limit deal, we can now easily afford to take more risks on guys we think might develop and be a star when they do.
Add our DEs. They’ve been creating havoc back there. Our DL isn’t the issue at all. It’s the LBs and DBs creating the problems. They have to teach these guys better football. We have the guys to get this done, they just have to play the right way. Tackling is a huge issue. Tackle the man in front of you and stop trying to hit them at stupid angles with your arm or shoulder. That doesn’t work. Stop putting your hands up unless you look back for the ball. They need to drill these things non stop. Stop allowing your defense to flow in one direction. Stay put and react to your job. Fill your gaps. It’s pretty simple. Just have to drill this shite down to them over and over.
No this could all be flip flopped by the end of the year. You people need to learn how to wait and see. No one has any clue who anyone is yet. We will soon find out.
