I think our best shot is starting Ack and being able to start Herring 2nd UNC game. That’s unlikely though because we will probably need Herring in a game before that.

Milam has a good approach and has good plate discipline. He’s not productive because of where he is in the lineup, he’s productive because of his ability to control the bat. If he bats 2nd, 4th, 6th, or 9th, it won’t matter. Teams are going to try to work him as he’s our 2nd or 3rd best hitter in th...

It’s more important to get good at bats there. Pearson is one pitch swinging at batting .230. He’s going to see plenty of hittable pitches. This isn’t little league, these guys have hundreds of at bats tracked, they know your tendencies. He’s going to see fastballs anywhere in the lineup and certain...

I agree. He needs to move up because he gives you quality at bats and can produce in several ways and gives you an advantage switch hitting.
The other reason he needs to move up is because the guys before him can’t get on base and need to be down in the lineup. Pearson and Trav need to be lower ...

We are so hell bent on power pitching and pitching for the strikeout. Long counts, a lot of pitches, and requiring guys to be perfect and hitters to actually swing.

I understand your post. I would like to see him in a lower part of order. I think he offers great defense, good baserunning, and composure in tough situations.
I don’t like him 4th because he does not consistently deliver in run producing situations.

Pitch calling with a guy with 2 pitches is tough. Think we just over thought lefty hitter and of course didn’t get fastball in enough....

Interesting count to run a fastball in there when you have a disgusting slider that can run away from the batter.
But you throw 4 in a row sliders that cut into the lefty where you could have hit a mini wave fb up 1-2 on count....
