Pew pew pew

What ever happened to identifying what you're shooting at?

If we expect 19 year old privates to do do that in Iraq, shouldn't we hold trained police officers to the same standard?

So little info is out and you guys are rushing to judgement. Hopefully there is more to the story than just a trigger happy cop.

You could speculate that there was no way for them to know who was behind them while they were apparently trying to save their own asses from gunfire. Perhaps the street was not lit? Until we get all the specifics, everything is speculative.

Think about that for a second, they had 'no idea' what was behind them yet drove right down the middle of the street? The officers were responding to a shots fired call, so I have to believe they had their lights flashing.

It's hard to say and a bad situation. I can easily see it as teenagers being idiots and just trying to drive quickly out of a situation they knew they should not of been in. The cops saw someone driving fast at them and assumed it was the perp that shot. For all we know right now, it could of been the teens in the car that were being shot at or that did the shooting.

I can't disagree with the other poster that said cops not shooting at moving vehicles unless it's a necessary situation makes sense.

possibly see cam footage.

Cam footage will either back the police version or there will be a regrettable cam malfunction. Its like I'm psychic or something.

That's bs there's been multiple cam footage in the last year that has been bad for the cop, there's been even more that have been suspect at best for them also.

The officers were responding to underage drinking, not shots fired

I am withholding judgement until more info comes out.

However, I want this defined clearly in the police's tale of the event

When a cop gets a call about drunk teenagers does he need to be so quick with the trigger ?

There's been twenty years of dashcams that have been manipulated by police and prosecutors. Denying that indicates a head irretrievably stuck in a rectum.

That's what I say whenever these stories break. Don't judge either side until all the facts are known.

The only agency I see named is Dallas County Sheriffs Office who is handling the investigation. This can't be Dallas Police Department that did the shooting. Because they handle their own shootings and this took place in Balch Springs. I am betting this is one of those ten man half assed trained departments that they have all over Texas. Everybody thinks they want their own local department until they realize letting a bunch of poorly trained guys making just over minimum wage run around with guns doesn't work so well. Refer to the Marshals shooting the guy by Alexandria and the whole mess with the department they just dissolved over by Gonzales for examples.

Terrible tragedy that some how some way could have been avoided either by compliance or better training.

Kids will drink underage. Not sure how you can stop that as a parent. But the gun shots heard by police officers will be telling in this case as to whether or not they exist.

Discharging your firearm into a vehicle leaving a party seems pretty fricking irresponsible.

Driving a 4000lb vehicle towards bright flashing lights and people yelling at you to stop seems even more irresponsible.

See how this works, you make a generalization and I make. Neither of us know what happened.

Hey, Gerry, In the 1960s there was a young man that graduated from the University of Michigan. Did some brilliant work in mathematics. Specifically bounded harmonic functions. Then he went on to Berkeley. He was assistant professor. Showed amazing potential. Then he moved to Montana, and blew the competition away.
