Yes . . . dude is a local agitator extraordinaire. He was just involved in a case in Fort Worth where a woman was arrested for talking back to a LEO.

I got a business email the other day from a guy that emailed me from his personal account and he signed it John Smith, Esquire.

I laughed, pretty odd to sign your personal email like that.

If he was truly shot from the side or the front of the car, I agree the cops an idiot and should likely go to jail.

Update: Car was driving away from the officer, who shot a rifle through the passenger side window killing the kid.

quote:

Balch Springs' police chief admitted Monday that the car in which a teenager was fatally shot was actually driving away from police when an officer armed with a rifle fired into it.

After reviewing body cam footage, Police Chief Jonathan Haber said the teen behind the wheel was not driving aggressively, as the department had originally said.

Shooting at a car driving away from a high schopl party after it had been busted by police. This is murder. Put the cops in gen pop and let it sort itself out.

Sounds like the officer may need to sit awhile. One thing that no one is talking about is where did the original shots come from. That is the root cause of this whole ordeal and the kid or kids should also be dealt with harshly. Why in the world would someone start shooting after the cops arrive. But I'm sure not one of those "good" kids will say anything. When will we admit their culture is a problem.

Some solid victim blaming.

If by sit awhile you mean spend his life in prison, then that's correct. He shot into that car for no reason at all. No justification exists for this one

Yep. Just call it what it is. Kids try to leave the party before the PoPo starts bashing heads. The lunatic cop shines his flashlight at the car and starts shouting profanity laden orders to "STOP!" Lunatic cop gets offended at lack of RESPECT and goes to Defcon 1 rage mode and starts going all psychopath on the car as it pulls away.

If you read between the lines, the department is distancing itself from the actions of the officer. Which is probably a wise move.

This one is going to create problems. Many problems. It's one thing to have a repeat felon who is failing to follow police commands get shot, but a 15 yr old kid with no weapon who wasn't even operating the vehicle? Plus all evidence so far points to no danger to the officer?

This one will light another powder keg.

Sounds like an honest and terrible mistake that should cost the officer his badge.

He should probably be prosecuted for manslaughter- I mean the article reads like he heard a gunshot, saw a car pulling out and driving away, and decided to shoot at it. Criminally negligent behavior from someone supposed to be an officer of the law.

Hope for both sides sake the LEO had on a body cam to show if they were backing into him or just driving off.

I mean, shooting at a car, even if it's aggressively backing into you, which there's nothing in the article to indicate that, is just a totally moronic strategy.

Why do you think the officer "should" lose his job?

Are you under the impression that SOP for avoiding being run over- which doesn't sound like was even the case here- is to shoot blindly at the vehicle?
