I mean, shooting at a car, even if it's aggressively backing into you, which there's nothing in the article to indicate that, is just a totally moronic strategy.

It is. Moving out of the way would be the logical choice. It's not like they don't have radios, a gazillion other cop cars to chase them, helicopters, robots, drones, etc. Wild west tactics were employed here with tragic results.

The cop chose bad judgement and caused the life of a innocent 15 year old. If I was in that same situation I would have drove the hell out of there not thinking a cop was going to shoot at me. I can't wait to see the dash cam or police cam of what happened.

Only if the PD tries to defend something that currently sounds indefensible. If this went down the way it is starting to sound this dude is going to go to jail for a long time.

Based on the police chief's statement the cop will see his day in court and for good reason

I'm normally an eff the police kind of guy but most of the time at the end I tend to side on the police/George zimmerman(dick face) side after the facts come out.

Doesn't sound like this will be one of those.

Yep Sounds like DPD is handling this well. The cop should rightfully be going to court in this instance.

Shooting at a car driving away from a high schopl party after it had been busted by police. This is murder. Put the cops in gen pop and let it sort itself out.

If the evidence that's mounting as of now is properly assembled, I'd say there's a good chance of an indictment. There's a lot of smoke and misinformation, but if the PD are already walking back the prior statement, then it does not bode will for the officer with the rifle. And I speak as a 100% Back-the-Blue supporter.

Yep. This seems like a case where BLM needs to focus on. Rather than someone like Sterling.

Really sounds like the cop needs to be indicted.

Finally sounds like a truly innocent black kid was murdered by an over zealous cop...but it also sounds like the police chief knows the cop fricked up and probably will get indicted and serve jail time. Not sure if there is much to protest about.

I doubt it the kid doesn't meet the protesting criteria...

not a criminal
wasn't resisting arrest
wasn't committing a crime
was ACTUALLY a good boy

Ironically, the problem will come when the over-zealous prosecutors overcharge him with capital murder and fail to get a conviction because the reality is probably closer to manslaughter.

After reviewing body cam footage, Police Chief Jonathan Haber said the teen behind the wheel was not driving aggressively, as the department had originally said.
so the department kinda lied about the incident initially?
