Not sure if posted already. But this is pretty much what the board has been discussing for a while now with ESPN & their liberal bullshite. Hate to see some of the good people they have lose their jobs, but this was pretty inevitable.

They would be the first to criticize Trump for shutting down excess government offices.

Maybe The Weather Channel will follow suit...use to be a decent watch

screw ESPN, If it wasnt for LSU sports I would never watch it. I used to love college gameday as well as other college football related shows, but now I only turn it on espn when LSU is playing.

I hate to ruin your narrative, and I'm not even here to argue about whether or not they have become liberal, because I think they have.
However, this has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with people not buying cable subscriptions anymore. John Skipper should fire himself because he signed off on massive TV deals with various leagues and college conferences. They thought that live sports would keep people from cutting the cord and it turns out they were wrong.

I thought it was funny last week when the Predators swept the Chicago blackhawks in the first round. The mascot for the predators went on twitter and posted a picture of all the ESPN analysts that picked Chicago to win and said "@espn please stick to basketball and social issues because hockey isn't your thing. World Wide Leader in Sports my furry butt."

Nah frick them all. they had Caitlyn Jenner on this week. I got to listen to fricking LeBatard, who sucks and deserves to be fired. interview Jenner for about five mins.

Will never understand the apparent joy people get over people losing their job through no fault of their own. Ed Werder has been at ESPN for 15 or so years and was one of the ones let go. How does anyone find joy in that?
I mean I guess if you're a shitty human being, I can understand how.

I hope this does not affect their competitive Transgendered Dance Therapy competition or the three hours of post-competition social commentary their all-African American womyn panel gives afterward. You can't get that kind of insight on the NFL network, they are always talking about the actual games. I want to know who the victims are so I can feel shitty and apologize accordingly. ESPN gives me that moral guidance I can't get on my own out here among the unenlightened.

These layoffs have nothing to do with that.

I watch sports as an escape from the shittiness of everyday life. Not to be reminded how everything is somehow my fault because I'm a white guy

I blame the "ref cam" they used during the Georgia G-Day game.
That and their forcing of politics into their sports coverage.

Likewise relative to UGA football.

Eh..I'd say it's a combination of both. Or to put it another way the former is leading to an increase in the latter.
Live sports was the one thing keeping many people on cable. If those same people no longer care much about watching live sports because of a perceived political bias, they have less regrets about cutting the cord.
Not to mention the big three streaming services (PS Vue, DirectTV NOW, and Sling TV) all have ESPN as an option. So people termed "cord cutters" may still actually be watching ESPN.

You have missed some quality Euro-shaming and heterosexual-shaming. It's the best Cultural Marxism on tv because they have old white guys on who they force to apologize and backtrack on air, and sometimes they grovel and plead for understanding. It's called Kornheisering and it's quality stuff. Much better than football or sports in general.
