Squat on the fishing, made some money so I can wet a line soon.
Seems to be the only really safe place, from those that can't swim.

Fished a club tournament on the Red River. Scratched out 11 lbs. Surprisingly tough day for everybody, ended up getting second.

Crabbed off the dock of silver slipper after we took my grandmother to brunch at blue bayou. 38 in about 3 hours. All 1s and 2s. Also got 1 flounder and two reds when the tide started out at noon.

Fished out of bayou benoit with a friend of mine. Caught probably 30 something bass. Threw back a bunch of small ones but kept our limit. Also caught about a dozen bream and sacalait. And probably the biggest bluegill I've ever caught (9" long).

Caught about half of the bass on spro frogs. We found this one spot that was loaded with duckweed and they were hammering the frogs. Most fun I've had fishing in quite a while.

Went out of Delacroix yesterday about 530pm -730pm and put 12 trout in the box on plastics under a cork. Found two good points with moving water and bait. Water was still dirty. Lots of small ones.

Yellow cats. Lots and lots of yellow cats. I'm tired of cleaning them.

Ran out to Fornation Island early Saturday am, tons of bait, picked up about 20. Headed back east towards Leeville and hunted and pecked until we ended up with about 10 more, a black drum, and 2 reds. Skipped last evening and made a quick run back to the west this am. Picked up 4 reds and called it a weekend.

Went to GI this weekend.
Dodged rain all of Saturday morning, then ended up doing pretty good in the afternoon.

Finished with roughly 40-50 trout. Caught most of them on the beaches and then picked up a handful in the bays behind the island. (Had to catch 3 to keep 1)

Did very well on Thursday fishing Comfort Island area. virtually every cast was a hookup, but there are tons of small males out there. We kept 42 trout, and were starting to get bites at tip of Morgan Harbor when we ran into some really nasty weather. Someone posted a picture of the water spout that was out there. Weather built in behind us, and we had to run through 4ft. seas and heavy rain. Snuck back into LaLoutre by the cut that has the camp by it. Be careful. If you get into trouble , take it slow and always have a way to get to protected water if possible. By the way, the water at Comfort was green.

I had to work the weekend, but during my week off I made a trip to Toledo. Did terrible. Between me, my dad, and one of my friends we managed to catch 2 keepers and one throwback in two half days of fishing. Already posted the video, but I did get a nice one on a frog in the bushes.

A handful of us caught about 100 specks between Thursday and Saturday in the surf at grand isle. Also caught 2 flounder and threw back about 25 baby red fish and about 20ish hard heads. It was a good trip.

Went bow fishing for the first time on Friday night in Leeville. As expected, I suck at bow fishing. Was able to go out to Brush Island and another stop just NE of there on Sunday Morning. A little windy but not too bad. Caught about 30 specs and one bull red. Nice weekend all in all.

Took Ms Hunt and Hunt jr to Grand Isle and put 30 nice specs and 5 flounder in the box Friday am and then me and Hunt jr caught 35 Sat am before storms chased us away. Probably threw back just as many smaller ones. Caught them all against the rocks to the left when leaving Bridgeside. If anyone is going this week I would bet they are still there. Start about half way down and work bank towards the gulf. Throw against the rocks and hold on. Live shrimp under cork worked for us but we were also able to pick up a few on artificial when we ran out of bait. Hated to leave!
