Route 1 kayak fishing

Looking to launch kayak on the gulf side of route 1 between Fourchon and grande isle about 3 miles past Moran’s.
I believe this area is technically private and was wondering if anyone has had any issues or if they actually enforce it.

I’ve been snapper fishing three times this year and the sharks have not been nearly as bad as they have in the last few years.

I would take weekends only if it extends the season. This is a much better situation then when noaa was setting the season.
NOAA backtracked on their proposal to close bottom fishing off of the Atlantic coast of Florida for three months.
Then they increased the season from 1 to 2 days.
Clowns.

Marsh fishing big tides

Any tips on marsh fishing when there are big tides? Always seem to struggle when there is lots of water moving in or out. Last weekend had a big falling tide pushing water out and east wind pushing water in and didn’t catch much. Thanks.

Maine Small Mouth bass- Update

Caught lots of small large mouth casting Texas rig worms against the shore. Last day moved about 100 feet away from shore and casted a spinner bait in deeper water.
Only small mouth of the trip. 19’ .
Any tips on lures/technique for catching small mouth on a small lake in Maine? Will have boat for a few days and be in on land for a few days.
Will casting to bank and using large mouth lures work? Plan to fish early morning and late afternoon with top waters.

I caught two 24’ trout on two casts with a she dog in Fourchon. That was fun but never happened again.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I know people complain about sharks every year but last year was noticeably worse. Lost count of the number of big snapper that we lost to sharks.
That is why I am upgrading so I can get the snapper up quickly.

Thoughts on a talica for fishing snapper, Aj’s, grouper in 300’ of water. Looking at model

Whatever you decide on for hooks/leaders/weight bring plenty. Between the sharks and break offs you will go through a lot.
Bigger ones will bite your finger off. They get big in the northeast and they actually have tournaments for them. 15.39 pounds won 25k in 2022 tournament in Long Island, NY. I’ve caught a bunch in gulf but none more then a few pounds.
This is exactly the same as all of my recent Delacroix trips minus the big trout. Can not find the trout this year.
