Shrimp, corn, tasso soup

We ended up going with 2W Outfitters out of Stuttgart, this past Sunday-Wednesday. They were the most responsive, and offered the turn-key deal we were looking for. Guided hunt, lodging, meals, processing, and Stuttgart was a bucket list for us.
Could give the play-by-play details, but overall, they were very accommodating, we shot some birds, food was good, and the lodge was very spacious. There were 4-5 other groups there, all of the others were repeats.
They have been in business for about 15 years, and both owners were there and guiding (we hunted with one). I appreciate that, as sometimes (at least in my experience), you don't even meet the owners, much less hunt with them.
All in all, it was a great experience, and the consensus was if we go back to Stuttgart, we would re-book with them.
Thanks for the recommendations!

I'd be shocked if they re-opened
I would assume any towing company could do this.

I like them, but I find the collar on the one that I have is too stiff. Sticks up into my neck/chin, if that makes sense. And I don't have a no-neck. This was a last year Christmas gift.

I hate to hear that if true. I always enjoyed watching him wheel that #16 3M Rousch Fenway Racing Ford around the track.
NASCAR has had too many fatalities over the years involving helicopters and planes.
I was at Homestead in 2005 when 2 helicopters collided after the race. One was taking off, the other was landing. Happened right by where we were hanging out after. Only the pilots were onboard, I'm thinking, but I want to say one was landing to pick up a driver.

I'd try the guy in City Hall, 1st floor. Stays busy.

Gardere is a state highway and under DOTD.
Let's be honest. LSP doesn't have the best track record on adequately punishing troopers.
Seems like the Department of Health ought to be tuning in to go check on this cat.

It's not BRPD watering it down, they are just obeying orders. Go back and watch the Council meeting where it was approved. It was made clear that as soon as it portrayed a negative image, the agreement and the Chief were done.
Most of those guys get them painted and printed, gyotaku style. Meat is typically donated to a food bank.

Duck Hunt with 6 hours of BTR
Posted by El Jefe on 2/5/25 at 6:21 pm
Starting to look to book a duck hunt within a 6ish hour drive from Baton Rouge. We are looking for a "show up and hunt, we do the rest" type place, with lodging, meals, bird cleaning, etc included. I've reached out to Duck Guides Inc in Dewitt AR based on a suggestion I saw on here, but wondering if anyone has any experiences with others that fit the bill.
I don't know, looking at the LDEQ website, Istrouma has withdrawn their water discharge permit application as "the facility is not discharging and facility operations have shut down". This was dated 9/23
Harbor Freight has one similar for about half. I have one and it's been fine for doing what you are looking for....

We used to have one. Gas engines. It caught fish and was comfortable, but it was slow and we always had to pack extra fuel when we made those canyon runs.
re: Anyway to keep crawfish alive in tank for a week+?
Posted by El Jefe on 1/23/24 at 8:34 pm to DownSouthTiger
Used to be in the crawfish shipping business. We had an aquaculture system set up to keep them for a few days and clean/purge them. You need aeration in the tanks (we just used treated, recirculated water sprayed from nozzles) and some sort of treatment to remove the waste/ammonia.
Ours was a biological treatment system and we learned once, that if it is overloaded prior to acclimation, everything will die.
It's not a cheap system but I don't think you are going to accomplish what you are looking for without the aeration and water treatment.

Just got back from Kansas. Morning hunt was -7, feels like -20. I bought these from Amazon and stuck a couple hand warmers in the pouches. Worked fine and I don't do the cold well. Can't speak to waterproofness, but I found it was easy to flip the mitten back and shoot.

That looks awesome!
I had 7 on my outside spigots, as I was going out of town. They all worked perfectly.
I tested by putting in the freezer for a while then connecting. Worked like it should.

Just thought I'd pass this along. These things activate when the water in the spigot hits 37deg and adjusts as it gets colder/warmer. Pretty damn good idea.
Home Depot has them for around $25 a piece. A little pricey, but good piece of mind for outdoor spigots.

haha. I just knew the Reel Cowboy. I ran with BMA back in the college/post-college days. We had some great times together.

Man, bad deal. Hadn't seen Mr. Bruce since the Reel Cowboy days. I figured when Brother Ray said he's been hunting up there, that's who it was. Hope you are good.

Was it Easterly's place? Sad deal regardless
it's already cooked. no need for anything above 250 deg. you are just reheating them, not cooking them
They do report all street light outage calls once a month to Entergy.
