Yep. But with certain cases on my phone, everythong comes out of my pocket when I'm trying to get my phone. I have OCD. I hate having too many things in my pockets. And I hate keeping my pocket knife in just regular pockets. Because they fall out and whatnot. So I like to keep them in a little pocket with a Velcro strap on it when I wear cargo shorts.

I don't dress like a hobo. I even shower, shave, get haircuts and wash my clothes, but still don't care what others think. I prefer comfort and don't seek the approval of the fashion-savvy "men" who say "newsflash" to make a point. :)

Shorts that aren't cargo shorts, aka regular shorts.
I carry two phones, a wallet, keys, and a knife every day. Add in a koozie and a snuff can on weekends and four pockets still work just fine.

I wear them often. But I coach kids teams, fish, etc. I need them.

When you wear shorts like Lucky Dog posted a picture of, I'd have to agree. I would not even consider those as cargo shorts, more like 12 year old boy at summer camp shorts. The majority of us that do wear cargo shorts do not wear any that look like those.

For those of you mentioning the 4 pockets thing, does that mean you put stuff in your back pockets in regular shorts? Do you have to take stuff out whenever you sit?
I don't always make use of the extra pockets in cargo shorts but they often come in handy with kids, going to the camp, playing golf (which I'm sure someone will criticize), or other life situations.
I'm 40 and slowly realizing that my not seeing the problem with cargo shorts along with thinking flat bill hats look stupid probably just means I'm getting really old.

I have no idea why this gets so much attention. I mean I'll admit to falling into the cyclical nature of arguing over this ridiculous issue. Why can't we just take it as it is, and realize that some people will just always wear cargo shorts, and the other people will just be better than them.

Never seen a plumber wear cargo shorts. A dude wearing cargo shorts looks like more of a man than a beta wearing regular navy blue/khaki shorts. I could care less either way. The only thing I would definitely never wear is blue jean shorts.
