Reckless is a good word to describe their play.

I try not to play in pots with them. They just don't give a frick. I certainly don't attempt to bluff them.

Well you've sat with them at the Baccarat table and placing a $25+ bet on Dragon coming is like going all-in with ace high with a 4 card flush on the board. I think they live for the "thrill."

I read the initial estimate is 1.3 billion

Yea...but...umm...it's really only $450 million after taxes, so it's not that much!!!

Not quite there, only prizes above $5000 will automatically be taxed, prizes between $600-$4999 will be reported to the IRS and a W-2G will be issued. So not all prize money is taxed.

Ok, so 50% of the 45% in payouts, I fail to see a difference that makes.

The government gets roughly .65 for every dollar spent on lotto tickets. It honestly can't even be considered gambling, closer to a tax.

Amateurs let the Powerball pot build up with their stupid play, then the pros step in and earn the big money.

Do y'all think that the players that buy every week religiously get extra pushed at the guy that comes in and buys one ticket and wins Wednesday?

Like the deer hunter on his first hint that shoots the huge buck the club has been trying to get for years?

Lol, morans....

But I'm def shelling out 8 quarters this week.

How? Do their quick picks not cover all possibilities? Surely close to 300,000,000 quick picks were bought?

They did $800,000,000 in sales. At $2 a pop, that equals 400,000,000 tickets IF NONE OF THEM HAD PowerPlay. I'm sure many of them did, leaving a significantly lower number of tickets. At almost 300,000,000 possible combinations, I'm sure it was close.

The odds were slim that nobody would win, but the odds are also slim (based on number of tickets sold) that someone WILL win in the early stages and people still do.

Up until almost $300,000,000, there is less than a 10% chance someone will win on each individual draw. (Based on number of tickets sold vs. possible combinations)

I only buy powerball tickets if I'm out in the middle of nowhere. It always seems like some yokel from Padukah, KY or Batesville, MS wins it.

Do you win anything for having two white numbers match?
