Rough calculations assuming no split pot and full principal lump sum invested at a conservative 3% annual ROR:
11.3 million a year in CASH forever. Now THAT is frick you money.
$942k/month
$217k/week
$31k/day
$1290/hour
$21.51/minute
$.36/second
Forever.

That would still be a salary cut for your run of the mill OT baller

I don't see how anybody could really pull it off, even with an "army" of people filling out the slips.
Too much to coordinate in such a short period of time, not to mention that the person would actually have to outlay a couple of hundred million in cash to pay for it.
Bill Gates may be worth 60 billion plus but I'm not sure even he can just walk into his bank and have that much physical cash ready to go in less than 72 hours.

Because they did not sell 300 million tickets. Even if they sold 200 million plus tickets at $2( accounting for the nearly $400 million dollar Jackpot increase) there are still 100 million combinations not played. I don't think people can comprehend 300 million number combinations.
You are assuming that if they sell 300 million tickets that they all will have unique numbers, which isn't the case.

Had 3 of the numbers on 3 different plays. Closest I'll ever get.

I doubt that quick picks hand out combinations like 1-2-3-4-5-powerball
I actually have a quick pick ticket that goes 8-9-10-11-23

That's a lump sum of $806 million and $486 million after federal tax
That's insane, I can't imagine winning and doubling my annual income in 1 day like that.

So maybe I'm wrong but if 1.3 billion is jackpot, then cash option is $806 million that includes the 39% federal tax. So only tax remaining is state (5%). So actual take home winnings is $715 million.

Its ridiculous that the federal tax is 39%. It should be at the most 25% and I think that is even too high.

No, the 806 million is the lump sum jackpot and is pretax.
The 1.3 billion is the 806 million invested and distributed over 30 (or is it 25?) years.

Actual take home in LA would be ~434M.

Unless my math is wrong, are the pot odds actually in favor?
Also, I wish there was a way to work out some sort of deal with the Feds on where the 600-700 million dollars go in taxes.

What's the largest office pool fellow OTers are involved in?
5k worth? 10k worth?
5k worth? 10k worth?
