mean, is it even mathematically possible to not have a winner tonight? If it is, I'm sure the odds rival that of actually winning the thing.
Because they did not sell 300 million tickets.
Even if they sold 200 million plus tickets at $2( accounting for the nearly $400 million dollar Jackpot increase) there are still 100 million combinations not played.
I don't think people can comprehend 300 million number combinations.

They should have a prize for most quick picks bought without matching a number

Hell yes. Like a blackout board.

I had you beat in that department

Saw that someone was one number away from winning it

They're rigging the Powerball drawings over and over until they raise enough money to pay off our national debt.
For Louisiana lottery sales, 35.5% goes to the State Treasury, 53% in prize money, 6% for lottery operations, and 5.5% to retailers.

52 Tickets in a work office pool and we didn't hit a single dollar.

I'm in if there is no winners. I got a 50% chance of winning a BILLION
I win or I don't that's 50/50% right

It really is pretty telling. I'd imagine 80% of the tickets sold for tonight's drawing were by the people who say, "it's only 15 million, why bother?"

I buy a couple here and there when I run into the corner store to buy my XXXL Magnums, I may need to make a few more powerball dedicated trips

I am still not convinced no one won. Not a single confirmation out there that I can find and this twitter account doesn't mean a thing as I don't know that is official.
I have seen 2 articles stating that no one won but both articles were state specific, one from California and the other from Oregon. No one won iN THOSE STATES. People are going crazy on Facebook and I ask for a link with confirmation and they can't provide one.
I hope no one won because A) I get another shot and B) the madness will be hilarious to watch for the next few days.

Seriously, what quasi government agency contractor will be the real winner with all this money being brought in?
Posted on 1/10/16 at 12:06 am to LSUsmartass
Can't believe there wasn't a winner. I've never witnessed such a buzz about the lottery.

I put official in all caps, that should be good enough for you

Then 53% of prize money is taxed 50%. A marvelous system they have going here, yet other forms of gambling are illegal and immoral....
