Didn't this just happen to someone else on the food board??

Why are you people leaving condiments out on the counter when you go to bed at night??

My granmaw never refrigerated mayo. Now, I wouldn't eat it, but it never killed anyone at her house.

Unless it is contaminated with some type of protein it is fine. I refigerate my mayo, but it won't kill you or even make you sick if it isn't refigerated.

Just answer the question instead of asking another.

You are fine, we never refrigerated mayo when I was a kid.

On another note, are you weary or leery?

Depends. Homemade mayo? sure. Blue plate? Needs no refrigeration at all.

Mayo a has high acid content. The lemon juice and vinegar actually slow the spread of bacteria. Mayo is much safer than most people think. My grandma also left it un-refrigerated. It's fine.
