Why in gods name would we do this? This isn’t the small government I voted for.

Honestly, spirit airline is the only company anywhere in the world that might have better customer service after being run by the government.

If it gets me more legroom in coach and free coke and peanuts I'm all for it.

There should be a rule that legroom must be at least 34 inches like it is on most Asian and European airlines (except the super low far budget ones like Ryanair).

Why would the federal government even consider this?

Same here, but the Biden admin ruined any chance of a merger with JetBlue.

But, even if it does go thru then I expect it to be temporary until another buyer steps in. At this moment no Airline wants to touch Spirit. Their fleet of planes are relatively young.

The colurts not the gvt cancelled the merger with Jet Blue and should allow it now with more legroom in coach as a precondition.

The US ended up owning the Mustang Ranch due to a tax seizure. If they can't make money selling top grade pussy and whisky, how would it go with a crappy airline?

Worth it to keep the trash off the other airlines. MMA should buy it though since it’s known for fights and drunks.

Frankly that would have been the right thing to do. I said so at the time but nobody listened.

That's exactly what the airline industry needs. I mean our government has done a fantastic job with the postal service

As someone who travels to APAC and EMEA multiple times a year, I can tell you this is not the case with the exception of Japanese Airlines (Japan and ANA)

Sprit / Frontier - 28"
Legacy Carriers - 31-32" (Delta, United, American, Southwest)
Japan / ANA -- 34"
Cathy Pacific - 32"
Singapore - 32"
Air France - 31"
British Airways - 31"
KLM - 31"
Lufthansa - 31"
Air China 31"
Korean Air - 32"
Emirates - 32"
Swiss - 32"

I'm surprised that 90% of Spirit is only worth $500 million

No thanks. Got enough ghettos on land, don't need to subsidize more in the sky.
