Breed of Peace strikes again- my 76 year old mother attacked by pit bull

She was walking through her neighborhood in Springfield, Louisiana. A younger woman was walking by her with a pit bull on a retractable leash. The demon broke free from its owner and knocked her down, biting my mother under the armpit and on the elbow. After getting her dog off of my mother the woman fled and Livingston Parish Sheriff has been unable to find her.
It happened on Pine Street if anyone was in the area on Sunday.

Where is Pine street? There are only a couple of streets in Springfield. You can walk from one end of town to the other in 15 min or less

I don’t know about banned, but my dog is only 42 lbs and ran towards a squirrel then it snapped. She sat down immediately and waited for a command, but I won’t use one of those again.

A side note to this, i have a heavy duty leash and harness for my dog.
If a helicopter picked us up and all i could do was hang on the the leash, the dog would come with me.
Maybe not necessary but it’s a piece of mind
