No, he does one thing that’s really valuable at the plate. He gets on base. Close to had the time. It doesn’t matter how much y’all hate him, that is going to play and keep him in the lineup.

his OPS is 914. he has been awesome.
his OBP is 475. everyone with that OBP needs as many AB as possible.
ignore batting average its an obsolete stat.
he leads the team in walks. this helps everyone because it wears out the pitchers. he has been fine and should play every day.

Frankly saying his OBP is 2nd highest in the team is a low bar, with the season we’ve had, thus far.
Bottomline he’s not done enough offensively to justify his negative defensive play.
Alternatively, I trust JJ… this may just be an indictment in what we have behind him.
