while very true that he takes pitches and gets on base, it’s a push considering he’s a low IQ baserunner.

its not a push. getting on base is the whole point of batting. if you don't make an out, that's a big success AB. a whole team of guys with his OBP would destroy opposing pitching staffs and score crazy runs.

the ability to take walks by seeing pitches well is the most important offensive skill. he cant help it if he looks so scary that pitchers walk him. he should take those walks, and that's what he does. this leads to wins. its the guys not getting on base you should blame.

10 rbis at this point in the season is terrible for a guy who can’t move or play defense.

Bottomline he’s not done enough offensively to justify his negative defensive play

of course he has!

errors are a somewhat useless stat, but he only has 2 of them.

I don't have access to his advanced defensive metrics, range and all that, but he is doing fine. he gets on base a ton, and that's what makes offense work.

if you would have referred to Arrambide, I would have upvoted your post. Why he is a starter for a program like LSU is really confusing.

and the guys getting the first out of an inning by getting thrown out at 3rd or second. Quick way to ruin a great inning.

I’m 50/50 on York. Yes, he gets on base but he’s a liability for double plays and trying to take a risk of getting more base than he should. I can live with that if he keeps getting on base and gets a little better average. If he goes downhill on the Pop ups, then he should be benched.

Now, in the field, he does need a little more work there.

Give him a little more leash but don’t wait to bench him if he regresses.

CJJ - 1,000,000
Rantards - 0

ETA; Yorke’s shite is frustrating but I trust CJJ

Frankly saying his OBP is 2nd highest in the team is a low bar, with the season we’ve had, thus far.

his OBP is marginally lower than Jake Brown's. That's not a low bar at all

considering he’s now in his fourth season playing on a D1 team, i’d say he’s D1 Caliber.

He is not a D1 caliber player. That’s why no other D1 school ever gave him an offer.

career .323 hitter over 3.5 seasons at the D1 level is also somehow not a D1 caliber player. Ok

He’s been disappointing but he gets on base and plays good defense as long as he’s not throwing the ball. I don’t see LSU having any better options on this team as of today.

Why is it so hard to avoid second guessing a coach who has won two of the last three national championships?

If Yorke is an error machine with 2 errors, then Milam is ALMOST an error machine with 0.

He has two whole errors on the year lol

3 errors and made some bad plays that aren't reflected in that "3". With that said, he's getting on base almost every other plate appearance, and it's hard to bench that. I wish we had seen more of Yamin at 1B against some lefties. Yamin has had some good at-bats in his limited opportunities.
