I'm a St Georgian so I don't really have a dog in it, but I'm surprised Sid doesn't blame Broome more. The fact he's just putting it all on himself tells me a few things:
1. He was completely shocked that he actually won.
2. He has no real plan other than to raise taxes and "wing" it.
3. He's not smart enough to blame his predecessor which is Politics 101 - which leads to:
4. He has no plans to win reelection so he's just biding time and dicking around.

He was a football coach so really, none of this should surprise anybody. He's a placeholder until a REAL piece of shite gets in there. Enjoy this last little gasp because don't worry - it's coming.

All "Coach" does is attend events for social media pictures.

$140 million sitting in a fricking library checkbook and we can't afford to put gas in cop cars.

What a fricking circus

Then maybe BRPD should spend money on gas instead of million dollar surveillance drones.

agreed. I think he ran on a whim and had no intention of winning. He definitely doesn't have a plan.

If you ever met the man, he doesn’t make excuses or blame others.
Even Kip in his best year had others work out the details to his agenda. Walter Monsoir was the architect to his 1st term if I’m remembering correctly.

Coach threw out a plan, people said no, now he’s working on a different plan. He didn’t point fingers, just got back on task. People didn’t want to pass taxes, he respected that.

Save your breath for the real solutions and don’t waste your energy on clueless trolls with no perspective.

You don’t fix a sixty-year problem over night.

Blaming others solves nothing and is nothing more than continued political theatre.

Coach has shown more progress and willingness to take bold steps to solve problems in his first year than this City has seen in my lifetime. I trust him and believe he will continue to reduce crime, blight, and homelessness in Baton Rouge.

I laughed when I read the OP’s post. However, Baton Rouge is already bankrupt on paper. It just hasn’t happened live yet. It will occur as a result of huge pensions. Google Stockton California bankruptcy and you’ll understand

Don’t think the Louisiana constitution allows municipalities to declare bankruptcy
