To your point, just looked up Houston’s public library budget.. right at $50 million for 2026 for about 2.4 million people.

You seem like you’re just clowning around.

Likely silt from your water heater. It can be flushed/cleaned.

You vote however you want. People need to know the facts though. Not half-truths and smoke and mirrors to sell it.

And I will vote how I want. Thank you.. living in America is great.
You trying to be informative once can be seen as helpful. Repeated battering of the same information, to the point of being annoying, is just that, annoying.
You linked a graphic prepared by:

Prepared by the Federation of GBR Civic Assoc (Oct 9, 2025)

Need a little more than that to believe it factual.

Wrong! Most of it goes to City of BR police pensions that are calculated on OT!! That’s insane to support that position. You want to maintain bloated pension obligations incurred by one city that they want the whole Parish to pay for? You think it’s fair for the people of Zachary to pay for City of BR Police pensions?

Link?

I honestly don't disagree that it's a good compromise, but I just don't like the idea that they are taking money from a overly funded parish service, and using it for the city of Baton Rouge. When will Central, Baker or Zachary get to take money from parish funded entities and use it for their police departments pension plan, or for their police departments new building? Is BR going to be able to run a fiscally responsible city gov't after they get bailed out? or are they going to be bitching in 2 years and asking those outside of the city for more money again? The solution isn't in St. George, or Central, or Zachary. It's in BR.

This would be a great opportunity to let the new administration/Mayor do what he said, and says, he’ll do without a heavy lift of a new tax.

No amount of money doesn’t not make you a douche.
I guess they could put toll entrances to enter..

BTW, cursing shows loss of control and ignorance in any civilized discussion.

Another vote for stealing $52M from the library for the city-parish general fund. NO Lumping them together is sleazy.

The Library is not the owner of those funds… fortunate manager at best. That money belongs to the taxpayers having been received thru means of collection and time. The Parish President, dare I say it, is trying to be responsible and amicable by using what’s already been collected. People saying they don’t use the services from the incorporated part of the city are full of crap. Go eat there? Drive thru it? LSU game? Take a crap there? Been involved in a fender bender there? Wife go shopping there?
You have a mayor trying to find solutions within his areas of control without proposing for additional/new taxes. Everything affects everything. Roads, drainage, bridge repairs, public services, education, response to critical incidents, I could go on. The library has benefitted for years from a generous millage. Adjust allocations, pay St. George what’s owed, put Mayor Edwards in a position to try to improve things. People voted him in because they wanted better. This is the first big thing he’s put forth and it’s something I’ve never seen a politician in BTR try. I’ll give him the chance to prove he’s a man of his word.
