Baker and Peoples need to at least look at this dude.

Hope College EDGE Liam Danitz just hopped in the portal and it’s a gamble i’m all in favor for. He’s 6’5 230 and is an All American sprinter ran 10.55 in the 100 and 20.92 in the 200. Like a somewhat slower defensive version of Nyck Harbor

He also had 21 TFLs and 15 sacks this year.

He already got offers from WVU, Cal, Utah, JMU, La Tech and now Michigan is sniffing around.

Worst case he is a situational speed rusher. Best case you turn him into a monster off the edge.

With how thin we are at edge why would you not take a shot on a freak like this?

Fast, quick enough to play the star?

Star would have too many responsibilities for him to try to learn. Get him stronger, teach him a few simple pass rush moves, put him in a wide 9, line him up in a sprinter stance, and let him go crazy.

At a minimum he would be a monster special teams coverage guy.

He probably wouldn't cost much.

He's a freak athlete

The Michigan native is a two-time NCAA First Team All-American Sprinter. He also grew to 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, a size at which he has run as fast as 10.55 in the 100-meter dash and 20.92 in the 200-meter dash.

Little light in the pants to play edge in a 4-2-5. If he can stack on 10-15 lbs then I would feel better about him holding his own in the run game. That was the easiest way to take Harold Perkins out of the game was run right at him and make him make the tackle.

With his frame, you probably want to put some weight on him and play him at DE.

Yeah with our football and track programs this is a player we should be able to pull and could turn out to be a beast with high level coaching.

You lost me. Mingo was an edge no? We played a 4-3. He wasn't a linebacker.

Since Trindon Holliday never got his shot at DE, maybe this guy can.

First impulse would be to keep him at DE or LB but what if he could play wide receiver or slide into the secondary? That's ridiculous speed for his height

Hope College. Wow

I love finding these little nuggets from these small, obscure schools.
