A quality starting G can be found in round 2 or even 3. We need a rush DE/OLB or a top tier WR way before we need a G.

The problem is we need two Guards. We currently have no one at LG, and Ruiz is as bad as having no one at RG. Need to come away with at least one free agent signing, so we’re not forced to draft 2 OG’s in a below average class.

re: How do the patriots keep doing it?

The Saints rebuild (or life after Brees) started a season after the Patriots, and they hit on a franchise QB one season after the Patriots did. Going into this off-season, the Saints are in a similar situation the Patriots were in going into last off-season. The last place schedule will help next season.

Deebo Samuel on a 1yr/12mil or some shite

I love his fit. Would complement Olave and Vele well.
His skillset is nothing like Shaheeds.

I wouldn’t mind taking a late round flyer on Kendrick Law though:
It’s not like he’s sacrificing anything by restructuring. It helps the team out in the current year, but in most cases pushes base salary to future/voided years in the form of a bonus.

Anyway, cutting/trading him doesn’t save anymore cap space this year than he’s worth on the team, so I don’t see it happening.

It’s also possible a number of other QBs turned down the opportunity

He ranked 25th in the AFC in QB Rating, and behind 2 other rookie QB’s who also had significant snaps. There were plenty of more deserving choices.

Per Grok, he’s got the lowest QB Rating (68.1) of a Pro Bowl QB, since 1975 (Mike Boryla- 52.7).

Isaiah Bond in the 4th.

He went pro last year.

If Seattle goes to the superbowl, it’ll be the last or 2nd to last picks in the 4th and 5th.

And for a UDFA, who they obviously weren’t going to offer WR2 money to keep around, it was a hell of a ROI.

Sucks we got one of the last 4th round picks for Shaheed who is a huge reason Seattle might be playing in the superbowl now. But gave up a high 4th for Vele.

They also got a 5th rounder for Shaheed.

I’d like to see something like this, assuming there’s minimal spending in FA. Maybe a starting OG, RB like Dowdle, and some depth signings at WR/DL/CB.

Fast, quick enough to play the star?

With his frame, you probably want to put some weight on him and play him at DE.

I'm seeing #10 on On3? Where did you see this? On3 Portal Team Rankings

shite, my bad. I thought I had On3 Team Rankings pulled up and it was 247. I’ve been comparing it to the On3 player rankings for the last week and now I know why it didn’t make sense lol.

And 10 points ahead of #2 Texas!

He’s a TE, for anyone who’s wondering.

Moore and Oregon had a terrible game yesterday but the QB pool for the NFL draft is very light, still expect Moore to go as he is listed as a top 3 QB.

The top end of this QB class is so weak, he still may go top 10 in the Draft.

I think you are missing the point … Kiffen gets credit for identifying a criminally underrated prospect. He didn’t take an iffy prospect and magically transform him into one of the best we’ve seen this year. He can’t just take someone with marginal talent and make him a star.

That was part of the point of my post. Rankings are flawed, and there will be underrated prospects that also fit Kiffin’s system.
It would be great to land him or one of the other top ranked QB’s, but keep in mind Chambliss was the 476th (27th ranked QB) rated transfer in On3 in last year’s cycle.

How did penning finish the year?

53.5 and 64th out of OG’s.

Dak Prescott

Didn’t Les want him to play TE?
Teams are 2-14 with Grupe as their kicker this season. So much for meaningful football.
Trading/Cutting in post-June 1st is the way out:
quote:

I would bet they draft a lineman, whether it’s DL or OL remains to be seen. David Bailey would be a fine consolation if Bain is gone

Any one of Reese, Bain, or Bailey at #8 would be nice to give Staley another star on the DL/Edge to go with Young.
quote:

I'll be blunt with this one: He was the worst OL but you can tell he was put in way before he should. I have no problem with this as long as they find someone to compete in his spot. As bad as Davis was he still has potential.

He does have 3 years of eligibility left, so there’s time for him to develop, even if it means a move to OG. It would be nice to compare the development of OL from last season to next season with the new coaching staff. We’re going to need to keep some of these guys to fill out the depth chart.

This dude was the worst graded starting safety in the SEC per UF fans

57.6 PFF grade, and 82.6% completion rate when targeted in 2025.

He’d complement Jayce Brown nicely.
