I don't think it's genetic. All sin is hereditary in the sense that we all have sinful natures passed down from our parents, going back to Adam and Eve.

What's different is the cultural support for Islam and rejection of biblical Christianity (or at least its absence). The culture they grew up in glorifies violence and physical domination, especially against women, and is not bound by the Christian ethic that the Western nations have substantively baked into their cultures.
