Ruffino's Saturday Night - It's amazing that some grownups don't have any self awareness

I moved to Florida, and my parents still live in Baton Rouge. My wife has never been. We have hit most of the local spots in Baton Rouge.
It's a very intimate setting; my wife is into football, so she didn't mind and enjoyed the TVs.
Saying that, it's dark and lit perfectly for an intimate setting. It's definitely a place where people want a nice place to eat and not deal with bullshite. I'm sure most everyone in here has been.
The staff, the food were amazing. Couldn't have been better.
We were sat by a couple of older white ladies. One of them proceeds to take a FaceTime call. Not take a call, make a call at the table. She is just obnoxiously loud. I'm thinking WTH?! This goes on and on, nothing urgent, just catching up about their day. Once again, on FaceTime. I look over and the other woman grabs the phone and starts talking. I was pissed. I started to get up and tell them, Please take that outside. My wife said no, she didn't want to start a scene. I sat back down not wanting to make the situation worse, and thought I'll give them some time, this can't go on for much longer. 5 mins go by, and I said, That's it. I go and grab the hostess and tell them what's going on. He moves us into another location. The hostess looked pissed.
We are wrapping up our dinner, and another couple stops by our table and says, "You want us to update you on the FaceTime call? We heard everything loud and clear if you want to know." We started laughing and said they were pissed because apparently they went on for another 5 mins after we left.
I'm just ranting here but my question is, "How do you not know this is not OK?" This aggravates people in a McDonald's much well a place you are going to spend 200+ dollars on a meal.

Speaking of which, I stopped to grab an egg mcmuffin at a McDonald's in Metairie recently and basically every table in the place was set up with a bunch of 20 somethings wearing suits, staring at and talking into laptops, and seeming to be in the middle of running some sort of weird looking cold-call operation out of the place that morning.

Yeah that would piss me off. I don’t even like people on speakerphone or FaceTime when I’m in a grocery store.

I stopped meeting clients at places like that. A lot want to meet at Starbucks. It's so damn loud in there. The library is so much better for that. Quiet, if I need to print something out for a life insurance form, it's accessible, a lot of times there are private rooms available, etc...

Maybe. Best I could gather from overhearing what they were saying, was that they were trying to solicit for some sort of "non-profit." The all had these bizarre scripted 'informal conversation' type talking points.

I think most people have the common sense to know that it's not OK.
I was at a nice place one time in Park City, out to eat on a work trip. Our lead on the job answered the phone at the table. It was our main office calling. Before he could say hello, the hostess was at our table telling him to go outside.

It is everywhere and it is not limited to certain age groups.
It always gripes me when people in a crowd (concert, event, etc.) stop outside of a door or on walk way to talk and block everyone from getting past them.
Move to the side if you want to talk, but you are holding up everyone!

The problem with old people doing this is they know it’s not right… they just don’t care

She just wanted everyone to know she had a friend.

Yep! This is the answer for 99% of our problems today.

The problem is it’s everywhere…social media is horrible

As much as I hate that I’ve sat next to a table full of smokers quite a lot in my lifetime and that was horrible.
