Had 1 good year, which is a warning with some of these guys being thrown around for top 10 jobs

There are some schools that are just set up to give false hope to the places that hire their coaches. Houston was one of them when they weren't in the Big 12. Their natural recruiting territory set them up to be better than their conference peers without much effort.

Memphis is the same way. Every coach that has success there seems to be fools gold.

Just think how different things could have been if Les Miles cast off Trent Domingue didn't miss that field goal in OT. If he makes that kick UT likely keeps Strong one more year and Herman is in purple and gold.

32-18 in 4 years at Texas. Including a NY6 bowl win. No losing seasons despite taking over a team from a coach who had no winning seasons in 3 years.

He was not as bad as some would say. I thought Sark was headed for the same thing for a bit. Herman seemed to peak in year 2. Sark has been better each year, though this one may not be as good. Only time will tell on that one.
