Lane won't come

He straightened out his life and is happy in Oxford. His kids go to school and college there. Love it. Moved his ex wife there as well. He is making the playoffs this year so if he can win at Ole Miss, no meddling, and the boosters give him what he wants, why should he? They will match us.

Actually wouldn’t be disappointed there are great young coaches out there as well instead of trapping us in another huge contract with Kiffin.
Although I think he will be the next HC here. They wouldn’t make the move right now to fire BK and not hire LK imo.

Everyone said the same thing about BK too. No one would have guessed BK to LSU until it happened just because of how secure his spot and how settled in at ND was.

He may not leave OM, but one way or the other he will make sure someone is paying him more by next season.

Hiring a young coach without the major program HC track record/experience would be AD malpractice.

There other good coaches besides lane.
He would be a great fit but just getting rid of Kelly and bringing in a hungry younger guy is huge.

Even with his history, I can't fathom him abandoning Ole Miss mid-playoffs to take a job here or anywhere else. They'd have to flame out and miss again.

I agree and their playoff run is going to make him unhirable this year anyway. Timing will be a mess.
