His life is so straightened out he holds them hostage season after season for pay raises by flirting with other teams.

He just moved his addiction from sex to Sexton.

Didn’t LSU just learn a lesson buy paying a coach who hadn’t won anything Do we not learn from the past.

Hiring a young coach without the major program HC track record/experience would be AD malpractice.

The problem is there aren't many (any?) good options with "major program" history...with success, at least.

Tell that to GA, Ohio state, and Oregon they seem to be doing very well.

I see this argument every now and then and it’s easily one of the worst arguments to be made.

Just because something has worked a few times before doesn’t mean that it’s the best and most likely to succeed route generally.

I can safely play Russian Roulette. In fact, I would lose only once every six tries.

That doesn’t make it wise for Scott Woodward to play that game with his career and legacy.

Hire the safest hire you can find, which in this context means that you find someone with a successful track record.

Of course. The logo on the helmet doesn’t mean a frickin thing anymore because of NIL. As long as the donors at a school want to spend money on football kids and coaches are worried about the blue bloods like they were just a few years ago.
