I ordered two output jacks for two of my basses last night. They are $4.50 a piece. Sweetwater rep has already called me twice this morning. And he won't really say anything. Thanks for ordering with us. I say, cool. Then long pause, then he'll say, well, anything else you might need. I say no. Long pause. Really long pause. I say, well ok thanks for calling, I'm good. Long pause. Ok, let me know if I can help you with anything. This interaction takes, no kidding, about 5 minutes. Then he calls me back. I let it go to voicemail.

I appreciate the customer service, but dadgum, I got no time for this.

Unfortunately I had a run in with my company's help desk this morning.

Our company is in Texas and has 3500+ employees but you can barely communicate with anyone at the help desk.

1st person female, I can barely understand her.

she has to transfer me and I get excited

2nd person male, better but still can barely speak English.

That's just Sweetwater for you

They'll call 2 years after ordering a pack of strings to see if you're doing okay, check on your kids, ask if you're happy with your insurance, etc

It's the rep though. He is either slow or really really high all the time. I like my old rep, we would talk about gear, but this guy, I've tried to talk with him before and he just pauses for long periods and then really doesn't say anything.

I'll ask about a piece of gear and after a terribly long pause, he'll say, well, I'm not sure I know about that one or if we have that (it's on their site). Then another long pause.

I just listened to the VM he left and I think he forgot he had just called me 30 minutes ago. It is hilarious. I wish you could hear it.

Nobody around has that specific shotgun I want in stock. Also, it's really hard to find this gun with a wooden stock instead of the poor people tupperware.

My Sweetwater rep has always been awesome. Checks in right after the order and then again after it's received. Maybe you got a noob but, typically, Sweetwater is on their game.

Yeah, they've gotten insane about the after-purchase customer service calls.

"Yeah dude, my pack of strings was great. Thanks. I sure will, I'll let you know when I need something else. Yep. You'll be the first to know. Thanks."

It's awkward.

They must be hurting and I say that not only because of the relentless follow up calls, but also the fact that I had the same sales rep for at least a decade and now my salesperson turns over every six months.

This sounds like he's trying to break up with you, but he doesn't have the words to do it. Let him down gently.

Had this but with a towing company. Submitted everything online. It says you’ll owe driver $11. Okay. No prob. I’ve got cash. Half hour later, the office calls and asks how I want to pay. Tell them cash to the driver. Long pauses throughout. Another half hour goes by. They call again. Want to use a credit card? Cash app? Nope. Still gonna hand the driver exactly $11. Another 15 minutes and they call again. That one went to VM where they left a message saying I could call and pay via credit card.

Yeah, that's the point.

Is that really necessary for a $4.50 output jack purchase?

I get it if you just dropped $6,500 on a DW Fern preamp or a u67 reissue or something high end like that, but I don't need a customer service follow up call to make sure I'm satisfied with the same $20 Remo Emperor snare head that I buy every six months or so.

My sister has power of attorney over my mom. She is trying to access her banking account information for my mom. Despite bringing a copy of the power of attorney, they are telling her they need the original copy, which I don't understand (if someone can explain why please tell me, but according to the law in Louisiana in order for a mandate or someone who has power of attorney to access their account, they need to bring a copy of). I am about to call them, but based off of what my sister is saying, they told her she has to go to the attorney or a notary and have the notarize it again and bring it to them for them to keep on file.

I've been dealing with this for the past 2 hours. 1st world!
