Me and my two early-teen sons have been starting to work out and (me) try to get fit and them prep for sports.

My favorite bottled protein shakes are the fair life core power 42g. But at $5 a pop, that’s $450 per month for us 3. I’ve been trying to mix and match different powders, milk, water to get so someting that tastes good and is cost effective. Currently 2 scoops of premier protein vanilla, 2tbs powdered peanut butter, 4oz milk, and water is what I’ve been going with. 270 cal/11.5 carbs/40 protein, so close to the fair life numbers.

What’s your go-to recipes?

Thanks!

I go with:

4 ice cubes
2 tbsp chia seed gelatin (basically chia seeds + water in refrigerator)
96 g plain Greek yogurt
1 tbsp natural peanut butter
1 tbsp raw honey
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (Hershey's special dark)
3 caplets of creatine (I don't know how much this is in mg)
1 scoop unflavored whey protein powder
3/8 cup water

Don’t really have recipes, just various protein powders.

Dymatize Fruity Pebbles
Dymatize Gourmet vanilla
Progenex Belgian Chocolate
Progenex Tropical vanilla
GNC Pro Performance Cookies and Cream

Mid morning and afternoon with cold water or milk

And a couple of high calorie powders if I know I may miss a meal.

If you want real simple, 16 oz milk and 1/3 cup Bob's Red Mill almond powder. Total of 31 g.

Can be heated up and you can add a small amount of hot cocoa for flavor.

6oz cold brew concentrate
6oz Fairlife Skim
1 scoop Legion whey cinnamon cereal flavor

Easy to prep as it mixes well in a shaker bottle. I typically consume right after breakfast or as a mid-morning snack.

Made into ice cream in my Ninja Creami.

1 cup fair life milk (or Aldi Equivalent) (13g 120cal)
1/2 cup cottage cheese (13g 110 cal)
1 scoop of protein powder (30g 180cal)
2 tbsp of peanut butter powder (6g 60 calories)
tablespoon of zero calorie monkfruit sweetener
470 calories with 62g of Protein in a pint.

Will eat a pint a day. Will also make a version with Chocolate fairlife and Chocolate protein powder. I've never broken the cost down but using Aldi ultra filtered milk it's $2.33 per pint of ice cream.

Milk or almond milk, depending.
1-2 scoops protein powder
frozen strawberries
1/2 frozen banana
Handful of frozen spinach (you won't taste it)

Sometimes I'll throw some iced coffee in there.

I don't really do homemade shakes anymore, but when I did, I'd add creatine, and a superfood powder.

I blend that and a banana...sometimes add tart cherry juice and/or peanut butter.

Arnold Schwarzenegger mentioned add some schnapps if you want a weekend treat.

Jocko Molk, cookies and cream. Two scoops with grass fed milk. Tiny bits of cookie in it. Awesome. You can also use the vanilla and put a teaspoon of pistachio or butterscotch pudding in it.
