Does Jeff Landry win reelection in 2027?

Looking for some legit analysis of the outlook. I have not met a single Republican who is happy with the job this assclown has done.
I fully expect his corrupt machine to try and tear down any Republican who dares to run against him.

Likely, yes. Landry, for his faults, is still 100% better than JBE.

Certainly there has to be a better option.

JBE’s COVID tyranny may keep Dems out of the gov mansion for 20 years. I have never seen a bigger state level inability to read the room re: lockdowns

Yes. Like 99% chance.
Incumbent Louisiana governors rarely lose. Blanco because of Katrina. Before that, you have to go back to the 90s for Roemer and Edwards.

When did Trump endorse Landry? Was it before or after the State Republican Party did?

In my little bubble, he’s not a factor good or bad. Therefore in my world, he gets re-elected.
But there is much time for events to transpire, and the gubernatorial election season hadn’t started.

even though he is a trial lawyer sellout, he would likely win again

The “Roemer Revolution”. Those were the days. We could use a man like Buddy again.

I get Jeff Landry is not the best, but were you going to or think you should have voted for Shawn Wilson?

He has not done as terrible of a job as JBE did. If JBE doesn’t run and win Cassidy’s senate seat in 2026 then I would not be surprised if JBE runs again. If that happens then republicans would be retarded and stupid to not rally around Landry. Of course, Louisiana republicans were retarded and stupid in 2015 and 2019 so it would not surprise me if they were stupid in 2027 as well.

That's likely more why he will win again versus "even though."

If insurance prices do not come down and /or he fails to reign in plaintiff attorney culture in this state- he absolutely should not win re-election! So far, insurance costs are out of line and he’s avoided going after plaintiff attorneys.
He will paint insurance commissioner temple into a corner but he isn’t to blame. It’s a political scam by Landry. He hopes people aren’t smart enough to see what’s going on.
My suspicion is that Landry is aligned with the plaintiff attorneys. He is not going to slap their hand.
It’s part of why this state struggles. Business doesn’t like being subjected to wild and frivolous lawsuits . Insurance carriers don’t like paying out massive judgements that are unreasonable.
Landry says that legal reform is not needed and doesn’t work. First of all, it does work and secondly. As a Republican, it shouldn’t matter! One of the cornerstones of conservative thought is a reasonable legal structure. Our system is out of control! The plaintiff attorneys have us at their mercy.
Reform is needed and soon

No, people will be motivated to vote unlike last election.
He may actually have to show up for a debate.

Yes, he will win strictly off of name recognition and the R next to his name.
And the state will be worse off for it.

Knowing Louisiana voters, they will vote for some Democrat that changes parities just in time to run.

Graves is looking to primary him. He will run on reducing traffic and increasing efficiency through better management and accountability of contracts across all state agencies. He will run on reducing the amount of state dollars going to foreigners to do work that Americans can do be it construction or IT. He will run on being a leader and not a follower. A problem solver and not a grand stander.
His family and close allies will have to bankroll the primary but once he wins the primary everyone will fall in line and he will steamroll his way into the governor's mansion.
Bookmark this thread. A lot of people are going to look stupid in their dismissive responses.

He’s more vulnerable than people will admit and it’s his own doing.. he’s absolutely squandered his first year with no true lasting accomplishments.. the question becomes who will be his opposition..
