Pretty much every major street is under construction. It will be a major cluster. Leave it to Teedy not to get that shite finished on time for the biggest event in the world.

Don’t know, but it’s a legitimate question. Let’s see, last one we had the power outage. This season the Sugar Bowl had to be postponed because of a terror attack. General lawlessness. Worst leadership imaginable. At some point, the big events are just going to stop coming.

Ever is a long time, because nostalgia sets in even though the frequency today is once a decade or longer (not every 5 years like in past).
If and when the Saints are sold and move it’s over for SB in NOLA. It’s not a big league town any longer and the residents have no one to blame but themselves because of their poor voting habits.

Not happening in most of our lifetimes. Sorry to disappoint.

A bit of fact checking here. The ‘major streets’ such as Poydras and Canal are completely open. Many streets in the FQ are under construction and those are all expected to be completed by month end. Boh Brothers have been flying through the repairs (which is frustrating we can’t do this more often). Some streets around the dome are closed due to security preparations
You can use this website to see current street construction / closures related to the Super Bowl. LINK

That has to do with the NFL awarding super bowls to cities who build new stadiums who other wise would not have gotten one. Indianapolis and Minnesota are not getting another Super Bowl. The rotation just includes more cities now.

Stop. It’s a fricking disaster driving downtown and has been for a bit.

Nobody coming for the superbowl is going to care that the corner of Claiborne and toledano is under construction

What Nola has in its corner is the fact that the overwhelming majority of attendees love it - media especially. Everything is easily accessible and in a compact area. No one has to travel miles upon miles to get to parties/events/game and the restaurants are, to say it simply, the best.

I know it’s always gonna be budget this or budget that but there comes a point where they need to just start saying, we are gonna run contractors 24/7 and just get all that stuff fixed

If the Ssints leave town, yes.
If not, no.
If not, no.

Idk, it has the benefit of warm weather which is great for the Super Bowl (odd to type this this week with the coming storm but that should be long gone for the game).
