Hipsters usually come from very well to do/rich parents. Mom and Dad paid for their refurbished duplex as an investment. Now yes there are some broke hipsters. Louisville is a great example but in general they are supported by their parents. “My mom and dad pay for my mortgage but they don’t own me” types.
