There is really one guy on Alabama that can beat you and we let that individual score 4 touchdowns. Twice he was untouched. What type of scheme did Baker have to stop this?

It is so mind numbingly retarded that our staff has let him run for 4 TDs on two separate occasions and he's not even that good.

I think it is clear that a huge flaw in Baker as a DC is a running QB. At Mizzou, JD5 killed him on the ground more than anything and now you have The A&M backup and Milroe.

It really blows my mind. I refuse to believe that Milroe running somehow surprised Baker or that there was no prep for 2 weeks for Milroe to take off. We have talked all season/off season about the quality of our defensive coaches. They have proven that they can scheme fairly well, so what the hell went wrong.

Look, I'm not saying our defense is good but they are a lot better than last year. I think Baker is limited by the talent. There were several times they got to Milroe but could not bring him down. He is a big, fast runner. He is elusive just like JD was. Yes there are things the defense could have done better but I think they are limited by the players. I love Weeks but he just didn't have the strength to tackle Milroe. Baker needs more than a season to get things rolling.

This has been my position all year, and why I'm bullish on the future.

I was in the stadium and it felt like the offense let the defense down. The 2 turnovers were so deflating in the stadium. And the first one was right after the defense got their first stop.

the whole staff shite the bed . Sloan is a joke . He's not fooling a 9-10 Pee Wee team. You run the same plays for 3 straight games. short pass on 1st down , run up the middle on 2nd and then throw a dam pass behind the line of scrimmage on 3rd down almost every series. Come on help us out here.

Bakers problem was not heavily overcorrecting to stopping Milroe. At some point, I'd have put two spies on Milroe at all times and just let him try to beat us by throwing the ball. Since we don't really have the athletes to minimize the damage, I'd probably mush rush most of the time as well and keep him in the pocket unless you just had to have a sack.

We did the same thing the last two years with Daniels. We are just not good at one on one tackles against good running QB's.

I think the only thing we can do now is have the DE or SS attack the QB in the backfield EVERY time they run a Read Option or RPO. Don't worry about the handoff or "breaking down", just attack the QB.

Of course, that would mean the DT's get no help if he hands off and the Defensive Backfield gets no help if he throws in the RPO.

Again, we are just not good enough in tackling one on one. I'm talking to about (Ryan, Burns, Gilbert)

Their OC was much more creative and forward thinking than ours.

Against aTm too. He has been unable to adjust with his current roster and that’s on him. He’s a great coach who is having a rough time rn

False, our players shite the bed. Go rewatch, they were in positions to make tackles all night and it was whiff city. Major Burns couldn't touch him, it's embarrassing.

I mean spy him with 2 backers or 1 backer and a safety. Just don't let THAT guy beat you. I know that's not feasible but it wouldn't have been any worse than what we saw.

He did frick up, but man we missed some open tackles.

And honestly, the defense (as well as the rest of the team and stadium) were completely out of the game emotionally after Nussmeier fumbled to end the first half and threw a pic in the endzone to start the second half. I think defense makes a few more stops if everyone hadn't quit and they weren't on the field so fricking much.

Same shite happened at A&M.

Gut wrenching turnover after turnover in a big conference game just kills a team. Nussmeier has been historically bad the last two games.

This was on players for sure. Biteing on misdirection, overpursuing and vacating their rush lanes, POOR tackling, storming wet conditions made everything worse as well.
