I don't need 4x4 I just need a buddy with a 4x4 and tow chain once in a while.

El Camino - Elizabeth Cook

The interior was kind of cramped but I always thought the Subaru Baja was sharp as hell. I don't think they make them anymore?

AWD >> 4WD. AWD is more stable on the road than 2WD or 4WD.

This. Mine is engaged at least 2-3 times a month and 3 times that during hunting season.

I like to get off of the road sometimes. Trails, beaches, etc. Plus, in North Texas, we seem to get an Icepocalypse every year and the 4WD helps.

Why don't you just come out and say that you are lesbian?

I don't tow nything, but I drive around the mountains all the time and even 4wd doesn't always get you out of a mess.

It doesn't get you into it either. That's always on you.

Well, sure.

AWD is a game-changer on road cars, especially sports cars.
The RWD F-Type R I had spent most of it's life trying to kill me, but I loved it anyway.

For me it's just more stuff that can break.

1) I've never heard of a 4x4 breaking.
2) if it breaks, then you're back down to 4x2 which you would have been anyway...

Eh, 4x4s have a lot more transmission problems than that.

I've heard if you don't use 4x4 every month or so, it can "dry" out. It's good to put it in 4 high every now and then to get it lubed up.

I put my 3/4 ton diesel in 4wd all the time. If it's towing in wet conditions and soft ground, that heavy bastard requires it. My other two trucks probably once a week. My 4 wheeler and sxs all the damn time.

I could use 4wd for sure but it was around 10k more. Figured I'd buy a trailer and a fourwheeler to use instead and not worry about bringing my truck where 4wd is needed. It hasn't put me in a bind yet.
