Complete and total crap was posted above.
I never ceased to be amazed that a poster that has RFK as both their screename & avatar has become a reliable ringer for CIA talking points.
RFK, Jr. has it right: the war in the hinterlands of Eastern Europe is a massive money laundering scheme…

So in essence, OP is arguing that the United States has to support Ukraine not because Ukraine itself is essential to our national security or interests, but because we publicly committed to Ukraine's defense aka opened our mouths and now we don't want to lose face. The problem is, Ukraine is still not essential to our national interests and not worth the consequences and costs of fighting a war with Russia or bleeding our resources to fund Ukraine fighting a war with Russia and risking escalation all the while. It is still wiser to lose face in this scenario then continue; or to pursue an end to the conflict that allows us to save face but make concessions to Russia which do not permit us the full propaganda victory we desire. To dig our heels in merely in the name of saving face is both incompetent and morally bankrupt. The true culprit the OP has unwittingly highlighted is our policymakers who put us in this situation to begin with and continue to double down. Russia called our bluff because Ukraine and the Black Sea ARE vital to their national interests and the war was worth the risks for them to prevent a NATO intrusion in their backyard.
Simpletons like the OP think the United States should commit itself to Ukraine and also commit ourselves to every other flashpoint of the world while also facing domestic chaos and social upheaval at home. These people are delusional and blinded by an idealism that ignores pragmatism and would demand the U.S. to involve itself in every conflict all over the world, accelerating our national decline and making us enemies of half the world. An empire clinging to its past prestige at all costs instead of adapting to a changing world.
The OP spends their entire post telling us how vital it is to strengthen ourselves against a threatening China, by committing ourselves to an endless pit of expense and war against Russia...
The sickness of this mindset has infected our national policy and it is severe enough to prove fatal. We need an awakening that changes our entire course, not MORE neoconservatism.

China’s aggression won’t stop with Taiwan. If they exercise full control of the South China Sea, that will completely cutoff Japan.

It makes me want to vomit. RFK would have never supported this bullshite and it's literally why he and his brother were murdered by their own government.

Ukraine isn’t an ally.
We have no legal obligation to help these cabbage eating Slavs.

If our allies are only our allies because we are willing to send our blood and treasure to prop them up, then they aren’t allies, they are parasites.

If they turn against us for not throwing more money at a losing cause to defend a non-NATO member whom we helped poke the Bear for decades, and believe that "American Interventionism" is still in the best interest of the globe...
...then I'd say, I would hesitate to label them as "allies", and would certainly go as far as to say we'd be better off without their "support".
Wanna know how to not be affected if Russia invades Ukraine? Could've done so by not sending troops there for years explicitly to teach their armed forces how to fight Russians in the first place (a bit late for that now). Also, Ukraine was ready to come to the table and negotiate peace terms over a year ago but the US stepped in and urged them to continue to fight. Woopsie! Wanna know how to prevent being affected when China inevitably takes Taiwan? Produce our own chips here on US soil so we don't end up dependent on the CCP for even more than we already are.
Ta-da!
At some point, we need to pull our noses out of everyone else's fricking business and fix our own problems. When every mouth is fed and no more military veterans remain homeless in the US, then we can talk about foreign aid.
