If you are using Apple TV, double click the small tv on your remote. It will allow you to close all the windows left open.
I had the same issue two years ago and didn’t realize I had two hundred windows still open.

Same, I have to re-sign in every week. Almost without fail, it seems like it only keeps me logged in for 7 days then signs me out.

ESPNs entire platform is embarrassingly bad

pick SECN+

I noticed that this weekend. When I would say "Xavier at LSU" then it was a program error when I selected the game.

When I said SECN+ once I found the correct game it worked.

I think one issue that gets overlooked in these threads is that the ESPN app exists on a lot of different platforms. iOS, tvOS, Android, various smart TV systems, Roku, etc…

Some work better than others. Some have different issues. In my experience the easiest/most reliable way to stream is in a desktop browser window but that doesn’t always cut it.

I’ve always been able to get it to work, but I’ve also run into login hiccups like OP described where I have to sign out/back in several times. I’ve also run into cases where it gives me the “your event hasn’t started yet” window and won’t go away until I log out and log back in.

My biggest gripe with ESPN streaming is that they only deliver 2-channel stereo audio on the apps/website, even if the actual broadcast is in 5.1 (as it is for most nationally televised events).

Seriously, get yall shite together.

Thank you....and it's been an ongoing issue for years. It's gotten stuck in the cycle of verify provider, then sign in a fee times but it was over half a dozen this time. This shite I complain about were problems 5 years ago...literally no effort to improve the experience

Go to sign in... error..event has ended... no shite. The baseball game I was watching Sunday has in fact ended. Exit out, let it refresh and scroll through 20 games because God forbid it learn my preferences. I've only been streaming exclusively LSU baseball for years now... click the game only to find I've been signed out...

Lol. This sounds all like user error.

You can’t expect your stream from Sunday to magically load you up on Tuesday for a game. Close the app. Reopen and pick the lsu game. This really isn’t hard at all.

Sounds like you probably suck at the internet and stuff, or your internet actually sucks.
Certain devices are just shitty, like trying to use the espn app from Vizios platform, or some other shitty tv.

Try watching a Pels game on the Ballys app and get back to me on how bad you think the espn app is, an app that works fine for 95% of people. Ballys sucks for 100% of users.

No one who uses a Roku has issues with any app working like normal, except Ballys of course.

I've watched a million games at my house on my Roku without one single issue ever. I'm at my parents and tried to get it through their ESPN app that's on the TV and it has constantly kicked me out. After the third time I switched to their Roku and haven't had a problem since. I've seen people suggest that apps loaded on the TV may be an issue, and after tonight I believe it

True. Roku stick works way better for me than Firestick, built in Sony TV app, etc.

ESPN’s app is the worst of all major apps, but using it on Roku makes it less painful.

At one time, I created an ESPN account on their site and picked my favorite teams. That made the games by my teams come right up … for a while, but some dimwit apparently removed that feature from the app. It would also be nice if it remembered my prior searches (LSU every damned time), but that apparently exceeds their technical abilities.

I don't watch boring arse college baseball and I'm a loser??

That would make 99% of sports fans losers. I would think even your dumb arse would find that statistically impossible.

And you don't REALLY believe more than 1% of sports fans watch that shite do you???

Only issue that I have, and its really aggravating, is that I get "media not allowed" every single day and have to re-sign in. Even last night, I had to log back in to watch the LSU game, then immediately after it was done I went to watch another SEC+ game (I think it was A&M), and it was telling me media not allowed again and I had to sign in again. Like what the hell is the reason for that? This just started a couple weeks ago so not sure what the deal is.

An app from a brand as huge as ESPN can have an algorithm like every other app in existence that learns preferences

I hate "personalization". I don't want apps thinking they know me, or know what I want. Typing 3 letters into a search bar isn't hard. I did it twice last night so I could have the game on in my living room and kitchen. It was easy and took 20 seconds. No errors. No glitches. No algorithm trying to guess what I wanted 5o watch.

App is awful. Had the same issue not being able to authenticate TV provider. Uninstall ESPN app from device, re-install. I used this on 2 devices this week successfully.

I'm not expecting it to. But why when i open it on Tuesday is it still open to an ended stream from Sunday. When I watch something on netflix, then close the app, the app doesnt reopen to the same spot in that show... it opens to the home screen, and that home screen is populated with recommendations/preferences.

The ESPN app opens to a game that ended 3 days ago, then when I navigate to the homescreen it's populated by basketball, racing, MLB all shite I've never watched...so I have to either search using the wonderful keyboard on screen and a remote or browse through 30 or so game in no discernible order. THEN I find I've for no reason been logged out and have to start from scratch there....it's a trash app
