Too many of these are appearing in states where property rights are purposely being ignored.

And of course the squatter is a maskhole.

quote:

A New York City couple’s plan to move into a $2 million dream home to retire in with their disabled son has become a “nightmare” as they battle a squatter who claims he had an agreement with the previous owner.

Susana and Joseph Landa, both 68, purchased the home next to family members in the quiet New York City residential neighborhood of Douglaston Queens in October 2023, ABC 7 reported.

The couple bought the Queens home last year with plans on settling into the property has they enter retirement.

Close to relatives, the location was perfect for their son Alex, who has Down Syndrome and could be easily looked after if something was ever to happen to the couple.

“I just want to know that I can die tomorrow and he’s next to his brother,” Susana Landa told the outlet Wednesday.

The couple, however, has yet to move into the multi-million dollar home four months after signing the deed as they try to get rid of squatter Brett Flores.

quote:

Even though the Landas never had an agreement with Flores as a tenant, police could not evict the squatter.

“If you have no lease and you’re not paying rent, what is your right?” Joseph said.

Flores has also listed rooms for rent at the property for other people.

An online listening shows Flores advertising “The Prince Room” for $50 a night to males, females, couples, families, or students looking for a place to stay at the couple’s home.

You have to love large democratic controlled cities and their policies and protections of everyone but the actual taxpaying citizens they bleed money from daily.

Here's my non-violent solution to shite like this. (I have a violent one too btw)

Go to the nearest bait shop and buy a couple 100 crickets. Let them loose in the house. Those noisy bitches would drive anyone crazy.

After he can't take it any longer, fog the house and pay a clean up crew.

Modern problems require modern solutions.

Hell it's cheap enough so there's nothing to lose really.

The family who owns the home should rent the room and then squat in it.

That's a typical Democrat - believes he has a right to something that isn't his, that he never paid for, that he didn't earn. Par for the course.

This has nothing to do with politicians/courts/etc. frick THEM. Take your house back. Do what you have to do. Its that simple. I'm so tired of stories like this. TAKE BACK WHAT IS YOURS. Its that simple.

Why you would want to retire to Queens, much less spend $2mm to do so is way beyond my understanding.

The solution has already been figured out. The new owners have the deed to the house. They simply find a friendly "participant" to legally lease the home from them. This participant then, with lease in hand, goes to the home, walks in (breaking the door if necessary-with owner's permission). Once inside, he calls the police about the "burglar" inside. Police come, sees a valid lease for the participant and none for the squatter. Squatter is told to leave or be arrested for trespassing. Once squatter leaves, house is turned over to owners.

This has been used successfully many times, even in commiefornia.

Time to gather the troops and put an end to this guy's bullshite.

He would leave. Promise.

I don't see how anyone wants to live in a place where the state & local government is so hostile towards them and caters carte blanche to the lawless and the trash. Insanity

There are so many solutions to this that a normal person could implement.

Just start remodeling the house. Let him stay, but have the power and water out, workers all over everyday.

And does he never leave? Give him a dose of his own medicine. Move in and change the locks. Squat on his squat. His only power is possession. Take that away.

Even giving these squatters the benefit of the doubt, after their claims are proven false, do they ever get charged criminally for breaking and entering, falsifying documents, etc?

Virtually every time, they are eventually evicted. So that would mean they broke in.
