anyone that thinks the nfl is scripted has the IQ of a fricking ant. How dumb do you have to be to believe this?

Kansas City and Chiefs fans are great too, go to a Chiefs game and visit the downtown area a day before the game and you will receive great hospitality. I think it's a good thing the Chiefs from a MAGA Red state ripped the collective hearts out of a fan base from Woke San Fransicko

the fact that you allow politics to determine who you will cheer for is absolutely insane and shows politics have completely broken you.

I get tired of the praise to the lord for a football game. It’s cringe worthy.

There are so many posters on this site that actually believe it is scripted it is sad. They basically ate so stupid there is no reasoning with them. They have zero common sense

Kyle Shanahan choking up a big game seems pretty normal by now. That definitely wasn't scripted. He does that all on his own.

Scripted isn’t the right word but they went to kelce to win twice. They wanted that story. They want the story Mahomes and KC challenging the pats. Purdy and Detroit were nice bylines but the real story was Taylor, dynasty, and mahomes challenging Brady for the goat.

The Chiefs winning? What does the NFL gain by the Chiefs winning? Or what happens if the Chiefs lost with Taylor there? What difference does it make?

Evidently a KC loss would’ve ensured a Trump victory in November and Pfizer executives being hauled off to jail.

I'm so sick of this shite ya'll spewing about "Woke" people. So when the KKK was lynching and killing and destroying Black towns and citizens, for the sick arse belief that they were better because of the color of their skin, I guess you can define that as Woke also right? I mean the Jim Crow south and it's laws, for whites only, was that being "Woke"?

The NFL could theoretically influence games, via refs, but to be scripted requires a level of faith that seems insane.

Last night even lacked any major calls/situations that could lead to the argument of influence.

100% agree. Plus the Chiefs will never bend the knee to the woke mob that made the Indians or Redskins change their name.

Great franchise full of good people.

Well duh. He's your best player after Mahomes.

KC challenging NE and Mahomes pushing Brady for tGOAT is a story that will keep fans tuned in, and it's geared more towards the casual fan.

It has nothing to do with the games being scripted.

Exactly. It was a well- officiated game.

Well where is all the people who said SF would win because they are the superior team. And no way the NFL is rigged, they would never do something like that? Brainless zombies you people are.

You just answered your own question. You ask what the NFL has to gain and then you say how showing Swift brings 5 million more eyes. Do you know how advertising works? And FWIW I think Swift brings more than 5 million extra eyes. The NFL will do whatever they can to keep and Swift and Kelce together and the Chiefs will be gifted wins until they split. Too much money at stake.

a. The NFL doesn't get more money from more fans. Networks do.

b. Networks buy the rights to these SBs years in advance and no network is going to pay more for the rights to the 2030 SB gambling Taylor Swift is going out with a player.

There’s times where it feels scripted, but then I remember they wouldn’t need to pay all these guys insane amounts of money if the outcome was predetermined.

I won't speak for others, but I think that's what they mean by "scripted."

Obviously the NFL isn't (yet) equivalent to the level of "scripting" as the WWF, but to think this billion-dollar a year industry isn't "influenced" in a way that TPTB decide will maximize profit (just like any other big business) is quite naive, especially with gambling involved.

It was estimated that more than a billion dollars was gambled just on that game alone. If that doesn't invite some sort of "tampering" I don't know what does.

Yet some Pollyannas desperately cling to the notion that sports is pure and wholesome, not unlike those who actually believe that politicians (the Trumps, the Obamas, etc.) are somehow on our side.

Sometimes the outcome writes itself and "outside influence" isn't needed. This game seemed to be one of those instances where it played out exactly how they might have "scripted" it.

Heck, when SF kicked that FG in OT, I told my Super Bowl gathering that KC was going to go down, score a TD and win the game.

I saw it coming from a mile away. Made a few bucks on it, too, I might add.

A lot of guys are just egging it on. A lot of guys come to the conclusion when their team loses. Some just like to complain. A few claim believe it yet watch anyway. Some do truly believe it and a small subset of those will want to fight you if you say wrestling is fake.

I'm kind of jealous of people that can think of all of these types of scripts.

The best part is they never have to prove anything. They think it's on everyone else to prove them wrong, so in their minds you have to prove it's not a script.
