In your travels, or maybe your hometown, what is the most depressing small town you’ve seen? Where it’s pretty much dead, nothing is happening, and it’s becoming more run down every year?

My vote is my hometown, Opelousas, LA. Most of you from Louisiana know about the plight of Opelousas. They’re building a few restaurants near I-49, but that’s about the only good news I’ve heard in years.

I would like to add Port Barre, LA and Ville Platte, LA.

Shreveport. The drive through on I-20 is a pretty sad site.

It was either Greenwood or Greenville or something like that, in Mississippi.

But, Eutaw Alabama is right up there, too.

Opelousas is a thriving metropolis compared to a lot of other smaller towns that haven’t seen a new building built in decades.
