Could it be something got closed in the door? Maybe a rock or something and the door got slammed closed on it.

Yea, parking lot where they have tennis practice…but how unlikely is that? A random rock kicks up and sits on that edge?

Well if it was a bullet you need to flash light in the hole to see where it ends up. Might have more damage than you can see.

Seems weird that the bottom mark in picture one looks almost melted, but wouldn’t have the entry angle into the hole above it if it was a projectile.
Then, the other area looks warped and scratched.

Seems like something the kid knows about since the door was open when it happened, he just doesn’t want to get in trouble for the markings

What do you mean you always inspect it? Are you really anal about a teenage kid's car? Should have bought used if so.

look under the door to see the rest of the damage, and maybe some clues. he closed the door on something that fell into the door jam

He's the most insecure parent on this board. He bought his son a car to be cool

Did you know his son plays sports?

It’s a tiny car, not hard to look it over.

I want him to take care of it…

I probably don’t want to put it on a lift and look underneath it.

That kid's fricking that car up quickly. Good idea to buy an irresponsible teenager a new sports car.
