There were a pile of them where I lived in Folsom. My biggest fear was my dumbass catahoula trying to show one who was boss.

Shot one a few weeks ago while hunting with my thermal.

They raid turkey nest.

ETA: I had to leave as I was set up down wind.

Yeah, they have one that hangs out by one of my favorite stands see him pretty regularly, most
Recently I shite a small buck right at dark , knew I hit him him good but he ran off, waited, got off my stand and found first blood but that damn skunk was between me and the trail the deer went on, and was just guarding the trail and would not let me get close and I did not want to get sprayed, I kept at A distance shinnig my light but it took forever for him to move on, amazed I did not get sprayed that night

Plenty in Texas and Oklahoma , and they won’t move coming down a trail; you just let them have their space

When I was 17, I shot one in the Bahia grass we were growing for hay. Then the small baby slinky came out looking for their momma, there we 8 of them. I ran to the barn, got a raincoat, a dip net and a 5 gallon bucket and caught all 8 without getting sprayed. Their eyes were barely open. I took them to an old vet I knew and we deglanned them. After about 2 weeks they quit stinking. They were raised like house cats. Kept some and have some away. Had them about 4-5 years

Actually saw one strolling across the dove fields at Sherburne a few weeks ago.

We swung very wide of that fella...

I have them at my place in Folsom. Seen them a couple times while hunting, but never on camera...until I put out Mo-buck. They love mo-buck and would come every night. They don't care for plain corn.

Only time I’ve EVER seen a live one was walking to class early one cold morning at MSU in Starkville. Wind was blowing hard, so I was walking with my head down. Right in the middle of campus, I looked up and there was a skunk walking towards me at about 20 yards. Stopped, sidestepped about 20 feet, and the skunk and I both carried on our way.

I don't remember seeing one in the woods or not. I have seen them in my backyard at home. One night one was having a stand off with a raccoon under my birdfeeder. I have had them near the house a few times and parts of the house smelled like a skunk until they moved on.

One of my friends growing up had a pet skunk. At the time it was the most random thing in the world. The skunk was way cooler than their pet cat. I've since learned (including posts in this thread) that pet skunks are a thing.

Get them around my house all the time. I have a video from our driveway cam somewhere of a coyote going after one, getting sprayed, and then changing his mind real quick.

My dogs got hit hard a couple years ago too. It took a long time for the smell to finally go away.

I deer hunt a ton of ag field edges. The main reason I carry a headlamp is I run into so many of the dang things walking out.

I rarely see one that isn't within an hour of sunrise or sunset.

I’m 50 years old and have hunted my whole life and have never seen a skunk while hunting. I was probably 35 years old before I saw a live skunk in the wild. Kind of crazy. I see them pretty regular now with a thermal scope.
