Are kolaches a thing outside of texas?

Based on the size of Kige, I am guessing that hippie donut shop in Bowling Green is getting his business.

Old folks and video poker degenerates sit there all day feeding the machines.
My uncle has a pizzeria on the southshore, and the video poker at least covers his rent every month.

You do realize Kolaches didn’t originate in Texas

I don't understand fast food in general. Even the restaurant business as a whole.
If there's one think you can cut immediately to save money it's dining expenses across the board. Everything is cheaper in bulk from the store. Everything is cheaper made. And even a mediocre chef can put together a solid burger. A homemade Big Mac might cost $1.00 even WITH inflation. A couple of potatoes for fries with oil? Maybe $0.80 per person for fries.
Donuts I get - much harder to make at home at the scale you typically want. But 75% of fast food? Better at home with just a little attention.

You ever see an asian donut shop? those little kids are in the back working for free.
My local family doughnut shop was owned by an Asian guy, whose wife and kids worked the front while he baked, and now he sold it to a Mexican guy, and now it’s worked by a bunch of unpaid kids speaking Spanish. Same business model: a brown guy works his clan. Only the language changed.

Cash money and you can make so much by claiming waste of flour. Print money.

Some of the donut shops around NOLA have video poker, sell beer, and sell little hamburgers and fries. It's great after going to the bar food.

A lot of donut shops are owned by Asians. There is a lot of money in donuts. Trust me.

And who's eating that many donuts?
Years ago I had a coworker who ate six donuts every morning. Naturally he was fat. He had a doctors appointment and a second coworker asked him how it went. He said, “The doctor said if I don’t lose weight it will kill me.” The second coworker said, “I guess you’re going to quit buying six donuts every day.” And he said, “I’d rather die than give up my donuts.”

When I lived in California my neighbor owned a few donuts shops.
She would start up around 4 am and leave the shop around 1 pm.
Her husband was a stay at home longhair hippie.
We would drink beer and go fishing a lot on his wives money.
One time I went to work and he tied a donut to a cane pole and put infront of me.
I liked the filled donuts or cake donuts.
He said he was trying to catch a pig.
