Retail space isn't cheap and I never see or hear from anyone who eats donuts on a regular basis. How many donuts do they have to sell to turn a profit? And who's eating that many donuts?

They're all money laundering operations for the fraternal order of police.

Some of them are ran by the family. So you dont have a payroll.

You ever see an asian donut shop? those little kids are in the back working for free.

And if you noticed the chains, they have merged and or started selling other shite. Like dunkin doesnt just sell donuts.

The ingredients needed to make donuts are really cheap; the margin is high on a single donut. And if you've ever been inside a donut shop, they are constantly selling donuts. They aren't relying on single individuals that come in regularly to eat donuts - they are relying on several individuals wanting donuts each day.

Most non-chains that I’ve seen are run by a husband and wife. Very little overhead. Usually they are in an older shop or shopping center. It’s probably a lot of work/hours to turn a profit though.

They do they just don't admit it. ITT, you'll see 8/10 replies giving a disclaimer like I haven't had a donut since 1998 but the other day i had one at work and man it was good...

I always assumed the asian ones were illegal fronts for Asian drug cartels to launder money.

Yep - and they can buy 50 lbs of it for $15.

If you can turn out a consistent product and are open when people buy donuts (the morning) and you are in a convenient location, I'd imagine a donut shop to be a very good investment opportunity.

I don't know why some y'all get so mad at this. Every person/household has their own habits and routines. It's not that unbelievable that lots of people haven't had a donut in years.

I haven't, and lord knows I eat my fair share of unhealthy food. It's not a flex. Just not part of my routine.
